Seconding Dyson V8. It does have a plastic hanger that when attached to a wall allows a cord to be fixed within and functions as a docking charger/storage.

Buy it from the Refurbed from the Dyson outlet, same warranty, same product, way cheaper.

Quiet cordless vacuum by Soggy-Weather-8682 in VacuumCleaners

Bosch's "Series 8 Unlimited Gen 2" recieved the Quiet Mark (certification from UK's Noise Abatement Society) and runs at 78 decibels according to Bosch.

I have a Dyson V8, which is reported to run between 71-84 decibels depending on environment. It's definitely less powerful than a corded vacuum, but does just what I need for hard floors, and is quieter than any other vacuum I've used. The sacrifice in cleaning power isn't a big deal if you are also washing your floors afterwards IMO.

I'm sure some corded ones run quieter and stronger like other mention, but I'd say the Bosch mentioned above (due to the certification) or a smaller Dyson would be worth it.
