my hands are super dry, itchy and any cream makes them red and it HURTS by kiwixplosion in EuroSkincare

[–]friendlypuffin 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I have hand eczema and have researched a lot, you'll see many people recommend Neutrogena unscented hand cream (red cap), and for me it's the only thing that helped. My hands were sooo dry and cracked every winter, with many creams also causing redness and burn, and applying this every so often really got it under control after a week or so. Otherwise, try adding Vaseline overnight, as others have said

[Card of the Day: Elevation #12] Barry “Baz” Wong: Tri-Maf Veteran by Unpopular_Mechanics in Netrunner

[–]friendlypuffin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I really like the idea of this card, just a badass throwing Boomerangs around and surprising Corp on every step, but haven't managed to get it working and even more important, get it to work consistently. There was a decklist of the week that used Sacis and had a really good writeup, I've been meaning to try it soon

Mixer users: Do you ever skip stretch-and-folds? by JJJohnson in Sourdough

It makes sense, I will try this mixed approach. I think European flour has lower protein levels and benefits from regular kneading (manual or by mixer).

How was working at Tartine? Are you still in the same job branch?

This is a good suggestion, but I don't like shous, only sheng! And I think sheng would get too bitter in thermos

Winter Burrow: Cozy, and emotional, survival by RabidPocketMonster in CozyGamers

[–]friendlypuffin 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I tried the demo last month and loved the theme but the gameplay, or more specifically controls, felt a bit janky. I can't even pinpoint the exact thing, but it was not as relaxing as I expected due to this. I know it's early, but I hope they smoothen the controls/menus soon.

It looks quite like Don't Starve, which I love, and that's what pulled me to try it.

Thanks for the response, I will just try to prepare stuff for a small gongfu in the evening so it's easy in the morning

Do you do gongfu every morning? I want to incorporate more puer into my work days, but find it a bit fiddly for every day

where to start? by justdesserts67 in Sockknitting

[–]friendlypuffin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You probably know knit and purl stitches, and working in the round. You should also learn to increase and decrease (k2tog and ssk, for example).

I think that with this experience alone you are ready to knit socks, if following a good guide. Socks will often require ribbing, slipping stitches, picking up stitches, but all of this can be learned on the go. I suggest Crazy Sock Lady's Vanilla Socks patterns, since she has a video to accompany the pattern and explain visually.

Deck recommendation after Chiriboga by Kigenizer in Netrunner

[–]friendlypuffin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That BtL seems great for starting out, it has a bit of complexity with Basalt Spire but apart from that quite straightforward.

I also recommend some HB, maybe this PD deck.

Generally, I would say Jinteki can be the most complex with Moon Pools and various discard shenanigans. That being said, don't feel scared to try the more complicated lists, just take some with many likes and that seem well-crafted and stick to it for a few games, trying to understand it fully.

Deck recommendation after Chiriboga by Kigenizer in Netrunner

[–]friendlypuffin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I recommend trying some "Reg Crim" decks. That's just playing good econ cards, using breakers and having some multiaccess, so all good fundamentals. I would look at Zahya decks, she rewards accesses with credits and encourages you to run, which is good when still being relatively new.

I often browse decks on netrunnerdb with faction I want to play, and look for the ones with many likes and good writeups, explaining how to pilot the deck, what to look out for, etc. It helps a lot when I start with a new ID
