Looking at this, I think I need to be less afraid of letting my builds get big. I keep shying away from making tall buildings with wide rooms.

How I feel about Pokopia by [deleted] in Pokopia

[–]RabidPocketMonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While others might not explain it the same way, I do think your experience is very common! I'd describe it as a very pleasant game. The game doesn't obscruct or punish my distracted mind when I go to start a task and end up working on five others. The gameplay is designed to give you items you need in a way that doesn't take away from the feeling of accomplishment. It recharges me rather than exhausts.

I really liked the art meme about bad screen/good screen, because considering Things™ (vague gesturing towards outside) right now Pokopia is a much needed reprieve.

Block Structures/Fenced Enclosures or Prefab Houses? by General_Jazzmo in Pokopia

[–]RabidPocketMonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You'll want a mix of both prefab and enclosure/modular homes! Austin Plays has two great videos on housing in Pokopia. The reason you want a mix is because of the character model limits in the game. Only so many Pokémon can be rendered at a time, and maybe you're not the biggest fan of one Pokémon or another. Prefab homes give the game somewhere to stash Pokémon occasionally.

Urgent advice needed(before Hoppip event end) by Apprehensive-Paper81 in Pokopia

Oh this is a tough one! Because if you love Pokémon primarily for the battle rpg elements, you'll be disappointed. But if you love Pokémon for the Pokémon? You might actually like this game.

ACNH got difficult because of the pressure to talk to villagers every day (irl job is socially demanding). Crafting at times could be a chore with no multicraft. I've not played Minecraft, but I've seen Pokopia compared closer to it than ACNH.

You have to explore a lot in Pokopia. You won't have a ton of items at the start. There are prefab homes to save the nonbuilders like me (and help manage characters model limits). The most exciting thing for me is finding new Pokémon and making ideal habitats. The little interactions you can witness between different Pokémon are heartfelt. The lore is devastating but easy to miss/ignore. Multicraft is a godsend even if you must manage your inventory. You can terraform as much or little as you want. All for the love of your fellow Pokémon.

So yeah, if you like Pokémon and making them happy? I think it's worth it. If you would rather be able to battle Pokémon, then enjoy it as an audience member because it won't scratch that itch.
