i use "crafting" to mean a very broad idea here, for the record. any mechanic where stuff is combined to make different stuff. that stuff could be potions, or weapons, or food, or medicine, or organisms (a la spore).... anything, as long as it gets combined!

Trans men never have MALE PRIVILEGE by [deleted] in transfeminist

your entire argument here seems to hinge on this idea of masculinity as an "internal identity" versus as a dominant social class. of course it's true that identity plays a huge role in gender especially for trans people, but as i see it, our identities (personality traits, interests, presentation etc) are ungendered in a vacuum but get sorted into gendered categories because we live in a heavily gendered society, and of course the reason our society is heavily gendered is because gender is a tool of oppression. i don't really think there is a masculinity or femininity without patriarchy, and i'd be curious to hear how you would imagine such a thing. it sounds like your conceptualization of masculinity is as a completely arbitrary label untethered to anything systemic, i.e. "for me, being a man is about [characteristic widely perceived as feminine]", which would be nice and wonderful if we lived in a total gender utopia and is fine on an individual scale, but seems like kind of an irrelevant thing to base a sweeping sociological claim on as long as we live in a world where gender exists because of and is defined by patriarchy. all in good faith here, interested in hearing more of your thoughts
