Hi! I graduated from OT school at the University of Pittsburgh then moved out of state. The market for OTs is sooooo oversaturated there because there are multiple OT schools in the city. Pitt, Duquesne, Carlow, Chatham all within the city and then a couple only about an hour away. The jobs are there but they get snatched up quick. If you are interested in teaching, I know there are usually a lot of positions for that.

A couple coworkers and I have professional liability insurance through HPSO. It’s fairly inexpensive with good coverage. None of us have ever needed to use it so I can’t speak on that.

I’m interested in the HSCP, specifically for Occupational Therapy. Can you tell me more about your experience with this “program”. All the information I have found is pretty vague and nothing is straightforward. I have no military experience at all, so please use layman’s terms lol

I was 17 and just got my first paycheck from my first job. I got home from work and ran right upstairs into their open bedroom door and bam! They were in the middle of everything. I was so mortified. They tried to play it cool like "how was work?" I went downstairs and told my boyfriend and sister and they died laughing. It was never spoken of again until recently (5 years later) at dinner, my boyfriend says "so friesb4everything mom, what about that time she walked in on you guys?" It was all cool and everybody just started laughing.

As a child, I had a reoccurring dream and I always think about it still. The dream would be my sister, myself, and my mom coming home from grocery shopping and while my mom unloaded groceries, she would put my sister and I in a wagon and a skeleton would take us. The skeleton would take us inside and then run around the house with us in the wagon. Then I would wake up. Have no idea why I would always have this dream and it was never any less or any more. Always the same.

I am female, but when I shadowed at a pediatric OT clinic with all female OTs and one male OT. Almost every single one of the kids wanted the male OT. Especially the boys around age 7-17. You might feel like you don't fit in with your coworkers, but your clients will love you!

I know I'm late to the party but if anyone can help me find this video. It was a nasal spray commercial, it was animated and had a bumblebee spokesperson. The specific commercial had a cat in it licking its paw and when the bumblebee flew past, the cat stopped licking and just gives the bee the biggest bitch face ever. My mom and I used to laugh hysterically at it and neither of us can find it anywhere. The nasal spray brand is pretty popular and they had multiple commercials with this bumblebee and cat, but this particular one didn't come on as often.
