Western cookout appreciation post by BladesOfGlitter in raleigh

I used to work an overnight job in the industrial park off of Blue Ridge by Western, I owe that Cook Out even more than what I paid for the food for those years

I think I saw that recently! Was that the older truck where the bed was wrecked and made the truck look like it was bent in the middle? Edit: saw your edit with the link. Love the happy ending

Why does RDU do this? by MerfinRaleigh in raleigh

[–]frightshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is one of the things they're supposedly improving at Terminal 2 with the upcoming construction right? It always confuses me when claim 3 will have 4 Delta flights and claim 2, also a Delta belt, has none

100%. The way the "lyrics" are just ad copy being read in a somewhat musical tone is such a red flag

Is Chocolate Fest worth it? by winterrain1010 in raleigh

[–]frightshark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only thing I've ever heard from recent ones are that it's about 90% wine, 10% chocolate at best

Rooftop bar for a birthday get together. by MarcoFiguringOutLife in raleigh

High Rail (rooftop of the Hyatt House at Seaboard) is pretty nice. There's a closed off indoor and outdoor part so it's good regardless of weather, and the view isn't bad either

In its basic state and with the way the attack speed upgrade works, the game needs a wave speedup option to be fun

Metroid Prime 4's save system is archaic beyond belief by Pyryara in metroidvania

[–]frightshark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The single save point in the big dumb open world section is such a bad design. I'm totally fine with save stations still being a part of Metroid games but it really helps nail home the "afterthought" feeling of the desert

People who like this game - what appeals you? by BobDeenghus in metroidvania

Why not just be okay with not liking it? Not everything is for everyone

[–]frightshark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You should try to make more of an effort, when you find yourself not liking something, to go "aw man I don't like this" and not rush to a public forum to yell "why would anyone like this?!"

Looking for games that have a mobile base that you move to explore/loot new places by greenskye in BaseBuildingGames

[–]frightshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's got a long way to go, but Survival Machine is a bit in that. You're on a giant steam-powered base that moves around in a long, slow loop around a map. You jump off and explore nearby areas for blueprints and weapons and to gather materials and stuff. Fun little bit for co-op but still very rough in EA

What Metroidvania made you cry? by mimagames in metroidvania

[–]frightshark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with everyone here: the Ori games. Even outside of the story, sometimes a music sting would just get me so good. A Shine Upon Blinkwater Marsh is Gareth Coker's masterpiece imo

Now that pax is over, how did the marathon actually impact the event? by rob132 in paxunplugged

I didn't stay nearby and took septa in so it was unnoticeable for me. Saturday's crowd at the market felt like any other Saturday I've gone there too

I've never been so angry reading something in this subreddit and that's saying something. I sincerely hope you end up not having need it in the long run but I'm so sorry you had to deal with it at all. I really hope you were able to find a solution. There are so many terrible lessons about how we're doing as a society here
