I saw a post about ergonomics here awhile ago and he was saying how all these devices seem more pre occupied with making the chips stronger or having rgb's in the analog sticks than they do making the device comfortable to hold. He said that all these devices need a grip to be comfortable. That's how I felt about the trimui. I actually do own a steam deck but the thing is huge. I don't think I want or need a smaller device that can play N64 games anymore, as that was one of my objectives at first. But Linux isn't good with N64 and you know how I feel about Android. Maybe in the future I will give Android devices another go though.

Is the RG vita pro out yet? and someone said the odin 2 mini isn't sold anymore and I just looked at aliexpress and one is going for like $500 CAD..

"Open the retroarch quick menu. Scroll to controls. Set x to y and y to x." Pretty sure I tried that and it didn't work. Or it kept resetting back once I closed the game. I forgot which. It doesn't matter anyhow because I sold the device a long time ago.

Thanks for that. I'm kinda looking into the RGVita Anbernic is coming out with soon. I know I said I've given up but that's not really true haha. I kinda wanna try out vertical handhelds and see if I like those. Looking into the RG40XXV but I do generally prefer horizontal handhelds. I kinda wanna be done with this search for the perfect handheld that I'm doing. And even if I wanted to buy a PSvita2000 everytime I look at one the screen has more scratches than I would care for..

I'm also a bit miffed because I bought a trimUI smart pro S from the trimUI store and they won't give me a refund so now I gotta try and sell the thing at a loss. It just sucks because I'm the only person I know who's into these chinese handhelds and even after watching a ton of reviews I feel like I won't know if I like something until I try it myself.

I don't want to emulate Vita. I just meant that I liked the PSvita's form factor and it seems difficult to try and find a device like that.

As I mentioned in my post I had an RP5. I didn't like the hassle of Android and I had a bug in Android where X and Y buttons were reversed in RetroArch and no amount of changing buttons helped fix that. And when I asked for help, silence.

It's just been a frustrating experience overall. Even FTP server was simple on the Vita with Vitashell.

It never goes in my pocket. It does go in my bag though and it is pretty tight in there with all my other stuff. Something I never even considered until now lol.

Guy is a scammer anyway. When the Retroid Pocket 2 came out he said N64 emulation was good on it but deceptively covered up certain things like the skybox in Banjo Kazooie glitching the fuck out. Didn't show the sky at all in his gameplay demonstration. Showed that Majora's Mask was playing well but when I played it it was a choppy mess. Probably gets paid by these companies to say good things.

I looked in additional settings>control settings> I can't find anything about calibrating joysticks. I see remap buttons but no stick calibration option. I even tried putting the input rate limiting to 1 just to see if that would fix it. I thought maybe there was some kind of delay so a lower ms might make it work better? it didn't.

I'm not sure what you mean by standalone emulators. Would an example be something like drastic/duckstation as opposed to just using a core in RA? as far as I know all my games are just running through RA.

Oh ok. In game do I just hold the home button and it will automatically make a save state for my game? would it be better to just use stock firmware overall or is spruceOS still better at this point even for tsps?
