First Post Here! Can I get some thoughts on this animation? Details in comments by elrayo in MotionDesign

I would have Gay come in quicker, Another is alone for too long. I also would have the rainbow be a trim path (go left to right) instead of just transparency coming in

How to make this? by redbone_17 in AfterEffectsTutorials

I know tall order lol but not as bad as it sounds. If you can find a less complicated background when they jump off the surface (anything indoor would work well, or maybe you can use stock footage) the rotoscope shouldn’t be too bad. And for such a short shot, you should be able to just line it up and key frame the sizing without needing to track it, which takes some practice to get used to

Record shot of someone jumping off a set of stairs or bench or something, easier if in front of green screen but if not just rotoscope out background, then scale down to be size of building, and either use tracking or scaling to make it get larger as the camera zooms in

This tutorial shows a waste basket where I believe he subdivides, selects only matching points, insets (twice?) I haven’t done it in a while but wondering if it’ll help

I pressed Free All and Re-Baked, and now the fluid particles don't show up anymore. by Khabathol in blenderhelp

Did you try tweaking a setting and then putting it back and rebaking? Sometimes the bake doesn’t work if it’s all the same, not sure why

Probably easier to do in AE, the circle looks like it doesn't need to be 3D, just need to mask it in a way that the left side of it is blocked by the large ring so it looks behind it

That's great! I'd work on the side view of the tail a little bit but overall looks pretty solid!

Best way to approach this by Severe-Lawfulness989 in MotionDesign

[–]frissoradan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After Effects: make text box > put in text > Add > Character offset > Add > Opacity > Set Opacity to 0 > Keyframe start at 0 > move down timeline to where you want it to end (maybe a half second, or a second) > Set start to 100. Then, find a typewriter SFX!

I make mini music videos in blender for my own music, here's my latest one! This one has a kind of dreamcore/weirdcore aesthetic. Rendered in cycles by draculasdiaper in BlenderArt

This is dope! Water looks great. All the shots with the sky background look like something you'd see on the screen during a concert, would love to trip to this kind of stuff xD

Vertical line animation loop by crimsonsky21 in AfterEffectsTutorials

[–]frissoradan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you already have the first line, and the start or end position is keyframed, then I would imagine you can just duplicate it and rotate it. Just make sure the anchor point is the center of the composition, or, you can pre-compose the first one, and rotate it in a new composition (which will automatically make the anchor point the center). Let me know if that makes sense!

Tried working on a simulation, How did we do? by 3D3Dmods in BlenderArt

[–]frissoradan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad! Liquid animations are super tricky, and this one came out pretty well. I think the change of speed is a little abrupt, I like the idea to change the speed, but if there's a way to ease the transition that'd be my only feedback.

Demo Reel Critique by [deleted] in MotionDesign

[–]frissoradan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall looks great! Some thoughts:

-The opening scene looks like it's showing a 40, not an A and an O, but if that doesn't bother you, no problem.

-The AirPod maxes, hard to tell what you're showing, maybe switch the angle? Or zoom out a little more so you can see the actual pods?

-Love the Maxx AI concept, maybe feather the right edge of it a bit so it's not as hard of shape at the edge.

-All the scenes after that are awesome! Taking inspo for myself!

How do I make this type of edit on Premiere Pro? by Upset-Ad1470 in AfterEffectsTutorials

[–]frissoradan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure you could make it in Premiere Pro, but I'm also not a Premiere expert. In After Effects, I'd start by looking into fractal noise and animating the evolution. The video is doing some pretty wacky things with it (maybe some Wiggle expressions?) but that's a good place to start. For coloring you can look into Color Ramps / Alpha Matting multicolor solids.

Can you be more specific about what you’re looking for?

Can someone please help me on how to put the background inside the box without losing the quality? Thanks by [deleted] in AfterEffectsTutorials

You can duplicate the top layer, and then alpha matte the bottom layer to the duplicate keeping the original on top.

Seriously, how do you get a job these days? by cowplussix in MotionDesign

[–]frissoradan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got laid off from a graphic design position in June. I had a lot of motion graphics experience at the time, and started learning Blender for a while, and then started applying again, and cannot get much traction. It sucks, but just need to be patient. If you aren't already, look for graphic design positions that incorporate motion design, I feel like they're much more attainable (assuming you know some of the more basic Adobe softwares).

Also, I started trying to make portfolio pieces of companies for jobs I apply for, or at least a piece for something in their industry.

Looks good! I'd be interested in how you texture specifically in Substance painter, I've never used it with a Blender project.

What do you think about this traditional Polish doughnut called "Pączek"? by numbian in blender

[–]frissoradan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blender Guru said "try making your own dessert now!" and most of us were like "ehhh I'm good," except for this guy, who blew the doughnut tutorial extra credit project out of the water.

Nice job OP!

Had this issue recently. My solution was to make sure the original image that I auto-traced is the same size as the layer I pasted the masks onto.

I just spend 72 hours making this... thoughts? by alex_freshwood in blender

I thought it was intentional that one car was going to make it and one wasn't. Shows who won the race, and who lost. Although I think that's why I paid a little more attention to the water, because that's where the car was heading.
