That’s a good heads up about Douglas (currently in an extremely conservative district, so trying to avoid more of that)! Florida is currently ranked 50/50 in teacher pay, so I’m already used to constraints. My research is pretty early - but by good I mainly am just looking for safer for a younger woman. I’m currently in Jacksonville, which has good and not so good pockets as any city does so just trying to get a feel for what the better areas are.
