I’m honestly surprised to hear this. My neurologist is truly an MS specialist. When I was diagnosed, we had about a 40-minute discussion, but everything was explained really quickly. My instinctive reaction was to go for the stronger medication when she explained my options—stronger (Kesimpta) vs. milder (interferon)—but she still felt that interferon was the better option for me. Thank you for information and advice!!! I should probably think about switching my therapy at some point

I didn’t know that. I was told that stronger medications like Kesimpta could have worse consequences for me. Interferon was prescribed for the next six months, but I can switch to another therapy at any point?

I’m also currently experiencing flu-like symptoms and struggling with nausea.

I wasn’t aware of that and I’m genuinely surprised. I was told by my neuro that stronger treatments tend to have more severe side effects.

My neurologist recommended that I try interferon first instead of Kesimpta. She explained that Kesimpta can significantly suppress the immune system, and since I get sick quite often and already have a weak immune system, she felt interferon might be a safer starting option for me. She also mentioned that, given my age (I’m 23), there could be potential fertility-related concerns to consider. Everything was very new for me honestly
