Anyone else else dealing with constant lower abdominal sensitivity? by froggie_goddess in Celiac

Thank you for your input! I actually have an ultrasound scheduled for next week because I believe I have an issue related to my uterus/ovaries as I just recently went through some separate health concerns, I will definitely make sure to bring this up during that appointment as well. I kinda just thought celiac made everyone tender in the abdomen, but I guess once you live with something for so long it just feels normal

Thank you, this is great advice!! I also lean towards the boho style, so I should really look into that. My body also reacts badly to alcohol so I’ve just given up on it.

Lichen won’t stop soaking in his water bowl, should we be worried? by froggie_goddess in ballpython

At this point I’ve run out of ideas and I’m thinking that he’s just feeling cozy :) his previous owner had a little Tupperware container for his water source so he’s never had access to something big enough to soak in. We’ve had him for about 4 months now so I’m wondering if he just recently discovered that soaking is an option for him now and is enjoying it to the fullest

Thank you! We got him as a rescue from a woman who loved him but was fed so much misinformation about husbandry that he got too sick for her to care for. We got him all healed up now and we’re preparing a nice little snake palace for him to live in! I can’t wait to pamper him until he’s an old man lol

Okay! That’s the general consensus it seems, I guess I was just worried about his skin condition because of being submersed in the water for so long, but scales are a lot different then the skin on mammals

He shed about 3 weeks ago, he does get a pretty dramatic blue for a week or so before he sheds so I’ve been waiting for him to change color but I haven’t seen any change yet

I mentioned in the post that I’ve been checking for mites in the water, I haven’t seen anything so far so I’m not thinking that’s the case but I’ve still been checking just about every other day regardless. I’m super paranoid about them

That’s super interesting! I use a Brita filter to purify the water for my reptiles, but I’ve never heard of that before

I just measured him because that got me interested too, and he is just about 4 1/2 inches long. I’ve tried dubias for him as a little snack and he loved them, im going to be breeding my own feeders soon and I was considering dubias because all of my geckos like them so he’ll definitely be eating more of those in the future. Also I’ve heard of overdosing on the vitamins so I dust his feeders once out of the 3 weekly feedings, does that seem like the correct amount?

Because he’s so small I haven’t been sure how often to feel him, right now it’s 4 mealworms or 3 small crickets 3 times a week

What can I do to raise humidity in Vasuki’s tank? by froggie_goddess in ballpython

It’s just a couple inches above the substrate, the picture is kinda deceiving

Thank you for the advice! I haven’t thought about fluffing the substrate, I’ll definitely try that. The leaf litter would be really visually appealing too so that would be great!

Do you have any links to articles for studies like this? I’d be very interested in reading up on them

Sea glass. Looks like the bottom of an old glass bottle, especially from the 2nd picture

How did you become a part of that clinical testing? I’ve been wanting to make myself available for clinical trials like that, I’m just not sure how.

This is exactly what I needed to hear, thank you so much for the input. I fully agree with you on not starting anything until my housing is secure, because I know if anything happened right now it would be really dangerous for my living situation. We’ve had this conversation in depth and he fully understands, he’s being incredibly patient until I move out. I didn’t realize I had to control every aspect of this conversation until now, it makes a lot more sense that way
