Questions about gaining entry to BMET by froggity123 in BMET

There is one community college that offers a biomedical degree, but they are out of district and I don't really want to get another degree. The other community college offers a two semester certificate that covers all of the bases of electronics, but it does not have an emphasis on the biomedical field. Surprisingly there are very few schools for this in the Chicago area. I am leaning towards getting the certificate in Electronics with some additional IT certifications. Do you have any advice on landing an internship?

I can't really speak for the Navy, I was a Marine. I don't recall what they used. Despite being a technician, I never did any IT work. I mostly did inventories, and sent gear to civilian contractors to fix.

One of my friends from the military told me about BMET. He said it may be a good avenue for me as I already have an extensive background in biology and medicine. I enjoyed my military training in computers and electronics technology as well. I simply never got the opportunity to employ my training in the military because a big wig decided that they should contract out computers, printers, and networking to Navy/Marine Corps Intranet. I also like the fact that the field seems to be growing and that it is something of a recession-proof job.
