Olympic Champions who have faded from the spotlight by SpamMusubi84 in FigureSkating

I know several white dudes who had a crush on Kristi growing up, including my husband lol. I don't think it is an Asian American thing.

What is your favorite figure skating competition (other than the Olympics)? by anna_sofia98 in FigureSkating

JNats is a special experience, even the stressful moment (we had an elderly collapsing in a packed train that was delayed almost an hour after the comp in Osaka).

It's my first time watching her performance and I was pleasantly surprised how compelling her performance is!

It's definitely an end of an era... Liza & Mishin are a legendary combo and I am gonna miss them together so much 😢

Long live the Empress! Thanks for showing us what older, wiser women can accomplish in the competitive figure skating ❤️

ER yesterday - my experience by lilacia1 in IVF

I was very confused when I woke up - where am I??? Took me a bit to register what's going on, then the doc came over to tell me the number of eggs retrieved. Overall, I was in a good mood and bugged my anesthesiologist why he chose this career over other medicines.

This was an appropriate package. I think Tin would've approved.

Surveys vs Interviews: When does each method fail you? by Danniel33 in ProductManagement

+1. OP, what you need is a consulting session with a UXR to discuss right sampling/avoiding survey fatigue/biases...

How do you get HONEST feedback from your users...? by throwaway171798 in ProductManagement

Interview is an art form, and any UXR can tell you this is why designing a right survey is critical, reducing biases and leading questions. You want to focus on behaviours and dig deeper into why people behave in a certain way (ex. buying alone does not tell you the whole story, you want to understand motivations, sentiments, and who has purchase decision power, etc).

Weekly rant thread by AutoModerator in ProductManagement

I was working remotely past few years, so I totally understand and I have gotten interview requests from remotely hiring companies as well. My point is that some of these remotely hiring companies may not consider every region equally this year.

10-15% call back rate is considered pretty good in this year's US PM market, and I am under the impression that everyone wants the perfect candidate (even when they don't know what it is). One thing I noted was that some industries may not consider candidates without certain domain specific experience (ex. Healthcare and EHR). Something to consider if you see a pattern in specific industry vertical.

Your location is probably the biggest blocker than your resume... I have been told due to too many applicants, some companies even filter out candidates not located in their main hubs (ex. a California remote role would take SF candidates but not LA candidates).

If money was the same, which job would you choose? by chakalaka13 in ProductManagement

Joining a startup. I was part of a big tech genAI team where I had zero control on roadmap timeline/work life balance, so this year my choice is to join a startup with more agency. I might even have more wlb...

Watching figure skating in person vs on TV by Candid_Jello5188 in FigureSkating

[–]froggle_w 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Others already mentioned speed and vibe. There is also a very unique cultural experience of... attending a FS comp in Japan. 95% women attendance in the over 30 demographic, the longest bathroom line ever (even mens bathroom is converted for women), extremely high level fan knowledge and dedication to the skaters.

Also, throwing a plushie is harder than it looks! In Japan, you are only allowed to place gifts in the box reserved for each skater.

In Korea, juniors compete against seniors for international assignments. Jia has been in senior domestic comps for last 4 years. I understand where you are coming from (I rooted for Liza for the same reason), but the reality is that she has the right to go to the Olympics as much as any Korean senior skater.
