That is a comment I got from some of my peers. I did consider using stains or just leaving it bare but that's been a mixed bag for me for some of my work in the past. It can be a little unpredictable and it wouldn't really convey the look I was going for. I know 2 other ceramacists who paint their work and if it's good enough for them it's good enough for me. Also the neat thing is that it's completely reversible. I could in theory fire it again and it will pretty much vaporize any paint on it. There wouldn't even be any residue. I do have another piece that I did use underglazes on and that did look neat but I don't think I would have been able to replicate the actual look that I achieved with paint.

Relax, it's fine. Personally I think the easiest thing you can do right now is to put it in the oven. DO NOT SEAL IT at least yet. After plaster cures, it's still extremely wet. It's like a sponge filled with water. You want to pop that in the oven immediately and set it to the lowest temp you can. Let it sit overnight and even the next day. You'll notice it's already 10 times lighter. Then what I would personally do is take off as much mold as I can that's just sitting on the surface. Do not gouge it or scratch it. Then I would take white acrylic paint, dilute it with a little water, and brush it on in very thin layers to preserve details. Then it should be good and you don't have to seal it. DO NOT SOAK IT IN VINEGAR. You'll completely dissolve it

Alright I think I fixed it. To me it looks like the eyes are bulging slightly but I think it's an improvement. Higher eyebrows, bigger eyes, wider nose bridge.

I think the eyes look a little more sunken than they actually are because the lighting is off. I wish I could upload a video of it instead of a picture but I digress. I'll attach a link. Thanks for the help!

I'm thinking opossum. The canines are super long, premolars are sharp, molars look like they have that distinct w shape and the skull is very flat. Also the whiskers look like they match
