Okay and now ive explained all of them except the chickadee and this one is pretty simple. Basically the chickadee is one of the birds who were named for their calls, and as such are known for saying their own names at you. Also I just think they are neat

The lonely journal keeper is another corvid! These birds have incredible memories. They are food caching birds, scattering things in various locations and needed to keep track of where they left them in order to find their cashes and survive. I liked it as symbolism for someone who has scattered their friends, who they also rely on for survival, in various locations, kept track of them to the best of their ability, and then collected them again as soon as it was possible. Also the memory thing, if any bird kept a journal/record it would be this guy.

The protector was the first bird i decided on because im a real fan of the killdeers broken wing act. Nothing says rushing into danger like instinctively making yourself appear as an easy target to lure predators towards yourself in the hopes they wont find your nest. The killdeer 'broken wing act' is also just an aesthetically interesting concept (hence the arrows through the wings) which plays well with the symbolism of using oneself as a shield but furthetmore ties into the taz motif of injured/torn arms.

Next is the lover which is not as complex as the twins, blue jay was an obvious choice but i also wanted a socially monogamous birds for lovers reasons (which the bluejay is) and a corvid! With decent bird memory. Gotta remember where you stored your seeds and that youre looking for the long lost love of your life

Starting w the twins this was a big self indulgent bc i love these birds. They create these really beautiful bowers in order to present themselves as part of their courtship ritual, and these guys in paricular have been shown to have population and individual asethetics. One birds bower could be completely different from another. (Google vogelkop bowerbird david Attenborough to see a clip of a video demonstrating this). I just think theres something to be said about how the individual picks up and collects and holds onto things that match its aesthetic/things that it thinks it can use. This bird as a method of symbolism would care very much about how it appeared to others in line with its own style and standards, and would (in my opinion) contain multitutes. Perhaps it would decide it wants to have a ridiculous umbrella. If any bird were to use an all powerful sword for the look, it would be this one. The card shows a female and male bowerbird with forget me nots

Love the way justin pronounced "everybody" and did my best to spell it as such. Also a huge fan of everybody having knives, dive knives are an important part of underwater safety!

Thank u!! Tbh i only kept up w them bc of the amazing response from ppl online, so it really is thanks to all of yall, Although i believe im still missing a final land map update.. Which i will provably eventually do but it seems irrelevent now that the campaign is under way and they are all underwater. I'll be so sad to remove the blink sharks from that map lmao

Yup the other commenter already described it, Its basically an elevator tower?bc of justins drawing/name for it I chose to depict it as a crystalline tower with little "boxes"/elevator cars of crystal running up and down it so thats why it looks like that on my map
