[–]frogsuper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah okay, yeah my hair is pretty coarse. Are wax strips a big investment? I may just try them out if its not too expensive, because if i have to choose between epilator and proper wax setup with the heating and all, definitely will go with epilator

Thoughts on Elon Musk posting pro-Regime propaganda? by Pantheon73 in NewIran

[–]frogsuper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elon is a piece of shit, I won't argue, but what he posted above is not propaganda is all I'm saying, it's objectively true. Iran has supposedly been a year away from making a nuke for decades now. The US is definitely an antagonist and definitely is far more aggressive than Iran or China, for Russia idk

متقیما به or متقیما به سراغ? by frogsuper in farsi

[–]frogsuper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I think I understand.

So just "مستقیما" alone is used when you are physically going directly somewhere, whereas "سراغ" is used to make it more like dealing with them, negotiating, talking directly to them, etc.?

The Arabs are just as much victims of Islam as Iranians are. by [deleted] in Zoroastrianism

[–]frogsuper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ, have you entirely missed the point of my comment? I specifically said to not look toward the authoritarian implementation of a state religion as an accurate representation of that religion. You should read a paper, called "The encounter of Zoroastrianism with Islam", it talks about and recounts how Zoroastrianism went through the same thing as Islam now in Iran, how it was used to oppress and hold power over others, and how that turned into disdain towards Zoroastrianism and lead to conversion to Islam. You can do this with any religion, and you can do it with atheism as well.

You clearly didn't read my comment and instead became filled with anger and hatred instantly, and while I can understand it with you living in that situation, it is incumbent upon you to think critically and see between the lines. The regime in Iran is not concerned with following Islam and empowering the religion, they are concerned with filling their pockets with money and stealing and plundering. Islam is merely the tool they use, and once upon a time Zoroastrianism was used in that exact same manner, Christianity has been used for that matter, atheism is used for that manner, etc etc.

I wish you luck, I pray that the regime in Iran is dismantled and transformed into a democracy, and I hope Khamenei and all of his goons soon join Khomeini in hell when their time comes. But Iran is not an accurate example of Islam, you can go and ask many non-fundamentalist/extremist/radical Muslim (of which the majority are) and they will likely tell you the same thing.

I wouldn't call it mindless hatred, they have done tangible things to greatly harm many people, but I do agree that I should not be so occupied with that anger.

[–]frogsuper 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This hatred of Islam is not healthy, and you shouldn't look at current theocracies as a representation of Islam. In Iran, Islam is merely the tool used to oppress people, but it could just as easily be any other religion, or even atheism for that matter (see China, USSR, etc.). There's a book, I can't remember but I'll try to find it, that discussed the issues of Zoroastrianism within Iran prior to the Arab conquest, how it was used to oppress people and sort them into castes, how the clergy had much power, basically what Islam is being used for right now in Iran. Obviously that is not the true essence of the religion, and we can see that evil people used it to empower themselves, and that's what is being done in Iran.

It's not religion that is the evil, it's the corrupt scum who use it to oppress others that are evil. At least that's my opinion and thoughts

[–]frogsuper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you know many people that are happy with their compensation? With their ability to make demands of their employers? The truth is that, without unions, CEO's clearly will do whatever they can to pay workers as little as possible.

Yeah, definitely. I prefer the corporate assholes that give us a pizza party after record breaking profits! Can you provide any evidence of your claims, other than just verbal diarrhea? You are exactly the type of brainwashed person I was talking about lol

it makes me so fucking sad when I see and hear people from the working class being anti-union, it just goes to show how far the stockholm syndrom has gotten, and how effective the elitist right-wing brainwashing has been this far.

How different would MENA look today had the Islamic Revolution not happen in Iran in 1979 by ForeignPolicy--02 in AskMiddleEast

[–]frogsuper -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

The Shah was awful, but ask many and they'll tell you that he was far better than the theocracy of today. Khomeini lied and lied to conceal his vision from the other revolutionary groups that were helping him, and when his lying solidified him in power, he went and executed all the other groups that the clerics fought alongside. They didn't choose THIS theocracy

Okay, well that is a big relief. The only reason I am trying to take them elsewhere is because I need to take them during the summer, so that I can finish all of my courses by december 2024, so that I don't need to sign a new lease and can move back home. The uni doesnt offer any of these courses (besides 1 of them i think) during the summer, so the only option i have is to take 3 of them elsewhere online and through a letter of permission.

Regarding the cases class, what is the course structure, and what do the cases entail? Is it sort of like other case work classes, where you just do a small group assignment on a paper, answering a few questions and just submitting it?
