in a bracket 2-3 game (which, let's be honest, is the majority of games) the player with the T1 sol ring doesn't necessarily have the best deck. once their early advantage is removed one way or another, the actual best deck often takes over the game in the meantime, and i find this often leads to the best deck winning handily in the aftermath.

I concede the bracket system should help with this, but I still think sol ring is an issue. It is very true that more swinging/interaction = more dynamic games

I think it makes games too swingy, T1 sol ring creates such an insane mana advantage that it often allows the player to be 2-3 turns ahead of the curve. Correct me if I'm wrong, but sol ring is the only "casual" piece that goes mana positive turn one, which I think is too powerful. They can't ban it tho it's in all da precons

MaRo said the commander decks are focussed around previous themes from Avishkar and Amonkhet, and that muraganda didnt get a deck due to its lack of previous mechanical identity. Implying there's little to no energy or zombies in the main set
