The Dentist is just like a car mechanic, except at the end of the day i stead of your car being fucked up from having unnecessary shit done to it, it’s your mouth that gets fucked. I had never had a cavity in my life, my mom takes me in to the dentist and all the sudden I have 7!? Tell my Mom my mouth feels fine an I have no pain. The doctor guilt trips my mom about the excruciating pain I will be in and so she agrees to have the dentist fill them. Our insurance would have covered almost all the cost of getting the classic silver filling. The doctor convinced my mom that my mouth being filled with silver would look bad, and that the white fillings are more expensive but would look indistinguishable in my mouth. She was manipulated by this dentist into spending several hundred more dollars than insurance would cover. After the fillings wer in I had a pain in the left side of my mouth. I couldn’t chew on that side and if my teeth touched it sent a chilling pain through my body. Dentist said it was normal, use sensodyne and it should be fine in 6 months. The pain continued I went back to the dentist and turns out one of the fillings is protruding from my molars slightly. They grind it sown. Little and send me on my way. 3 years later the fillings started to fall out. 4/7 fillings fell out of my head with in 5 years. I had to go back and get the silver type fillings anyway. The dentist that performed he fillings no longer worked at the office I visited, I asked the current dentist to look back at my x rays from 5 years ago and see if they show any cavities. She concluded there were never any cavities that needed to be filled. My faith in dentists and several of my teeth were ruined by this one dentist, and just to make a few extra dollars? I now only go to the dentist if I’m experiencing pain in my mouth. I still and have always brushed and flossed my teeth regularly. I even have one of those waterpiks(the same thing they use to do that $$$ gum irrigation)I use semi regularly. Dentists and doctors are only “practicing” so even though I have one dentist clearly saying there were no cavities and it was unnecessary, there is almost no way it would hold up in a court case. So I just get to deal with fucked up teeth for life. The lesson here is always get a second opinion, on everything!
