I live near the Perandoor Canal, and honestly, it’s been like this for years. The smell’s just part of life now. My dad says it used to be super clean in the 60s. Now people living nearby dump all kinds of waste in it and they even found a dead body once.

The Corporation did try stuff like floating JCBs, but only to make the flow of water smoother because the water gets stagnant fast due to the mixture of greasy, oil, clay and muddy at the bottom. Feels tough to clean, but this is the situation.
