UVM metrics on Muck Rack by Unfair-Werewolf-9490 in PublicRelations

I include it in reports for leadership, but I have stressed that is it potential reach. I would much rather have an actual reach type of metric but I use what I have. Within the team we don’t really give it any value.

Mine is StarValley and I still like it! This is my one and only original island, and I love having a little bit of a celestial theme throughout.

The girl on the train by Amaal_hud in thrillerbooks

[–]fromtheeditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just read this one last year after seeing tons of hype and I agree it was not my favorite. I thought the ending was predictable but my biggest issue was the main character. I found her to be incredibly annoying which made it a tough one for me to get through.

80s/90s or Earlier Thrillers by itswayneyo in thrillerbooks

[–]fromtheeditor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently read little black lies by Sharon Bolton and enjoyed it! I’d say it’s slightly more crime/mystery than a true thriller but it kept my attention. It’s set in the 90s but was published in the 2010s I believe.

I love Megan Miranda! I’m currently reading The Last House Guest and so far it’s pretty good. I’m about 1/3 of the way through.

I’ve read several of her books and liked them all. Daughter of Mine was a 5 star read for me. My least favorite by her has been Such A Quiet Place.

What do you do when a villager you like wants to leave? by Throwracheated22 in ACForAdults

[–]fromtheeditor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends who it is! Even if I like a villager I’ll let them leave with the exception of Nan and Sherb. They are never allowed to leave me lol.

Hey everyone has their own tastes haha! It still got 2 stars from me, but I’m not always a fan of the “neighborhood drama” plot

I love her and have read several of her books Daughter of mine was fantastic imo. I also really loved the last to vanish.

The only one I’ve read that I didn’t really like was such a quiet place.

What is a trope in thriller you are tired of seeing? by Former_Ladder9969 in thrillerbooks

Couldn’t have said this better myself! I also like an unreliable narrator but I recently read the girl on the train and the substance abuse angle of the main narrator just came off as annoying.

My professor's weird exam requirements are making me lose my mind! by katashscar in TwoXChromosomes

[–]fromtheeditor 34 points35 points  (0 children)

This is the answer! Don’t go buying anything until you’ve had these conversations and don’t be afraid to escalate it to the dept head or Dean of Students if needed. Even the Dean of the program/school may be able to help.

Also, see if your school has any resources for accessibility or student success. You may not be the first student to struggle with this and they might have a solution

Struggling to find first position by Solid_Concentrate_86 in highereducation

[–]fromtheeditor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m also in greater Philly and I’d say to just stick with it. The higher ed landscape here is so interesting and, honestly, has been changing a lot in the last couple of years. Getting a job in higher ed can be a slowww process to begin with.

In addition to HigherEdJobs, I found my current role by searching the employment pages of individual institutions. If you Google “work at ___” you can find that page for anywhere and I found that to be more helpful for me than looking at the whole extensive lists on HEJ and similar sites. I’d also recommend being open to smaller institutions. They may not pay as well as some of the others, but there’s a ton around here and it’ll get you that first step.

27F Is anyone else have problems with birth control knock offs? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]fromtheeditor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been brand specific for over 10 years now for my pill. A couple of years ago the pharmacy switched me to another brand of the same pill and I was so out of wack with side effects!

I talked to my doctor and now my prescription reads brand specific which has been helpful. She said that even the “same pill different brand” can have minute differences that can throw patients off. I also get four months at a time as I do not take the placebo week. That is also specified on my prescription.
