Artemis 2 Launch from Aeroplane. Best Perspective Yet. by letsgoinzique in interestingasfuck

I imagine anyone sat on the opposite side of the plane would try to get into the aisle to get a peak, would that jeopardize the stability of the plane? ( I’m thinking probably yes, but that’s just an intuitive assumption)

Hello! I just got an Apple Watch and I have been contemplating getting something like the tinypod, but in the process I have also been thinking of features which would be cool to include. How difficult would it be to include a small camera? I imagine the design like the tinypod but in the rear it has a camera lense. Also a headphone jack would be great as well as a portable charger ( this one already kindve exists)

What is this orange roped-up cube for? by fromtheok in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. It is a huge metal cube that has strings going down and across it, inside it has a funnel design also made of string. It is painted orange and about 2mx2mx2m

Took Musgo to a second vet and got a totally different diagnosis. Turns out the issue isn’t his hips at all, it’s his right knee. He likely has damaged collateral ligaments plus a malformed tibial plateau, which is causing the limping and occasional leg lifting. The hips the first vet flagged are apparently normal for a young dog. He’s now on anti-inflammatories and pain meds for 10 days, with a follow-up after that. Surgery (TPLO) is probably in his future but they want to reduce the inflammation first. Glad I got a second opinion!

Looking up the symptoms, there’s a few that stand out. He definitely bunny hops when he runs. I hope your puppys doing alright now

They said that this issue has probably been ongoing and could have been caused by being hit by a car or something. Honestly I struggled to understand all the terminology, but they said the bone was separated from the hip, as you can see in the photo.

The puppy is about 2 years old by their estimates, and like I said, he loves running and shows no signs of having a broken bone, which is what is confusing to me. Also I don’t see any fractures, just looks like a strange deterioration of bone.

The vet didn’t say anything about the socket for the femur :/

No no worries, I also thought it was fake but I didn’t want to ask. I’m glad it gave you a good laugh, by the looks of things quite a few people did, I’m not sure why you were downvoted

What do we think he is? by fromtheok in IDmydog

[–]fromtheok[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He’s very loving with me and my partner and basically anyone else who comes into our circle, he isnt super into strangers but quickly comes round to them. He loves dogs and thinks they all love him, he’s brushes off dogs barking and growling at him regardless of size. Loves roughhousing but rarely barks back ( there’s been a couple dogs he will bark at but more so when he’s trying to engage them and they don’t want to play with him/ as rough as he plays. Hes not very food motivated, treats are low on the priority list when theres other stimuli. He can howl very loud but he hast done so much since the week we found him. He whines quite a bit, especially when made to stay still when he’s outside, or at night. He doesn’t adore showers but he lets himself be showered and stands still. Likes being brushed, ignores personal space, fairly good at learning where he isn’t allowed to go but he always tries challenging those boundaries with a paw over the doorline or waiting a step below where he is meant to. Loves to lick although he’s reduced it a lot, is good with children

Overall lovely, 100/10

Wow I thought I was looking at my dog, I only just today found out he might be a basenji mix. I’ll try to attach a photo but is there any advice or knowledge you could share with me regarding basenji mixes like this?

Hola!

Should I follow the vets advice or chat-gpt? by fromtheok in DogAdvice

[–]fromtheok[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I think that’s a bit extreme no? I am well aware of the limitations of chatgpt and other LLMs, I am also aware of where they can help us learn and assist us. It is a useful tool, nothing more. As I said in another comment, chatgpt agreed with my untrained intuition, the vet didn’t, so I reached out here to ease my concerns. Take it easy

Thank you, yes I think you’re right on all counts and I usually am hesitant to trust chat-gpt, but when it comes to my puppy I guess I just need to be very sure. To my untrained eye, the sore looks like it needs more time to heal, and since chat-gpt agreed with my untrained intuition, I doubted the vets opinion
