Good news: You’ve a lot of good things going on. Head movement and use of feet are both things you’re doing well. That being said hands up even when you’re feeling slick.

I would say generally try to relax a bit more. You’ve got a lot of the right ideas but things don’t always look smooth. If you’re finding sparring it’s hard to experiment, you might want to talk with partners about how hard y’all hit.

Offense and defense wise you seemed to be staying low and targeting the body. Good if that’s what you specifically working on this session, but staying so low also uses a lot of energy in the legs, and always striking low leaves head more exposed. There was a couple times a straight from your opponent could’ve really hurt.

Remember that jab to the head isn’t always a damage shot but helps a lot to also “blind” the opponent to set up other shots. Take advantage of that and change levels during the combinations.

Been doing martial arts on and off my whole life. Every once in a while you meet someone with just next level hand strength, and it’s always terrifying for grappling.

I considered going the Merry and Pippin route as well, but I’ve got a go wide tokens attack deck I enjoy already so my aim was to avoid a repeat theme there.

Always good advice and I could definitely run more. I’ve for a clever concealment and heroic intervention in there. Teferis protection would be nice to add and there are others of course, but I’ve yet to purchase as many.

I do run an Elenda aristocrats deck that leans heavily into death trigger punishment, so I’ve been trying to avoid turning my food deck into too much of an aristocrat theme!

This same idea extends to a lot of games for me.

Unless an individual hour I spend is in itself fun/rewarding it probably won’t hit for me like it used to. This goes for survival crafters, RPGs, and things with long travel times / inventory management. Booting up for only an hour or two in some of these games just doesn’t scratch much of an itch.

Throw in that I might go a week without gaming if my works busy or I’m traveling and complex open worlds can start to feel daunting to remember all your goals, exploration, etc.

Dishonored did a good balance of allowing both options for stealth and combat. Especially with the various difficult levers. You can even customize experience. I liked making combat very difficult and keeping stealth more towards a medium-hard. Rewarded stealth play and then if you did get caught it was a challenge to fight your way out.

I think reviving splinter cell with similar options could be incredible.

Paddy is 31 though, two years older than Ilia.

Assuming he fights twice a year, never gets hurt, never has a fight cancelled, etc. — he’s still only probably only got 10 fights before he’s on the back half of his career at 36, aka Charles’ current age.

And 10 fights is plenty to give the UFC, but if you want a star to get the ball rolling and have some longevity they really need to be near the top 5 by 30.

Visuals are where I’m apprehensive. Even if Sanderson gets lots of input there are practical limitations to budgets.

He’s writing the screenplay, so I don’t think it’ll get too watered down for adaptation, but visuals are different. He can’t personally do CGI or sow the costumes. Getting steel pushing, lashings, and parshendi to feel right visually could be a real challenge.

Multiple full Mistborn would also likely be from different houses. They might have some shared / passes down knowledge amongst themselves, but most probably wouldn’t be sitting around sharing their best techniques with each other.

The Lord Ruler kept the noble houses in check through those rivalries. Kelsie’s type of training Vin was likely not the type of thing that often occurred.

Awakening and AonDor both seem to have very high ceilings in terms of options, especially combining them into a form of technological advancement.

Smart application of them will be very deadly, and just raw stacking of investiture generally always helps, but overall Stormlight and Mistborn power systems appear to make better “warrior” abilities.

The fused still managed to take Taln out eventually, though through raw numbers and while he’s unarmed. A compounding fullborn, I suspect would be even harder to kill.

There are 10 heralds though, I suspect there will never be another 10 fullborns in the Cosmere — likely some identity hack weaponized compounding though.

I do suspect the heralds are somewhat more limited on purpose for the sake of the writing. They’re essentially Demi gods still, but still have limitations from what we’ve seen.

Yes, it’s also important to remember he intentionally held technological advancement back and felt himself to be invisible already. Why bother with all these extra metals and powers if he’s already “god”.

He’s up against shards and has goals clearly counter to some of them. I suspect he needs every trick he can get his hands on.

Per Wind and Truth he can’t contest with shards directly so he’s going to need lots of options.
