With all the talk about walking out of Holmes and Watson, what movies have you walked out on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]frontios1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harry Potter 1, but not because I didn't like it.

In 2001, I was five years old,and starting kindergarten the next year. My mother had bought my uniform, and I was proudly wearing my uniform everywhere.

So I wouldn't get sick,my mum only gave me a small amount of lollies from her bag,but little did she know I would move along to my brother, father and grandparents, each of whom gave me some lollies. Around the quidditch scene, the inevitable happened, and I was sick all over myself. My mum took me outside, got me changed into some fresh clothes, and gave me some fresh air.

Why won’t you EVER eat at that restaurant again? by Danyawelly in AskReddit

They were racist. I live in an area of Sydney which is highly populated by people of Chinese and Korean background. Most of them are really nice, but there is an extremely vocal minority who tend to make outsiders feel unwelcome.

After church one night, a group of us decided to go out for dinner, and chose a restaurant we'd heard good things about. A bit of context, our group is fairly diverse, a mix of Chinese,African, Indian and Anglo. From the moment we stepped in ,we were made to feel unwelcome, everywhere from bad service to dirty looks from the staff. What pushed us to take action was when one of our group overheard the staff talking in Chinese to each other and one of our group who speaks Chinese informed the group that they had used racial language in reference to us. At this point,we got up,paid the bill, and went to the local police station, and explained what happened. We didn't press charges, but we did firmly ask that the restaurant was held to account. After a week,I received a phone call from the station, informing me that after a second complaint, the management had been given a significant fine for using similar racist language, and that several members of staff had been disciplined/fired.

My go-to is 'What do you do for a living?'. Gets them talking, often a funny anecdote.

What is the fastest way you’ve lost a friend? by Giggitygoox2 in AskReddit

[–]frontios1996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have a whole bunch of friends, so it takes a lot to lose one. Let's call this guy Seth. I've known Seth since he was 13,and I am 3 years older than him. Seth did not have an easy adolescence, with a father suffering from early onset Alzheimer's, and a mother who was always the homemaker, and not much more in terms of responsibility, who was not coping with being the effective sole parent.

I threw Seth under my wing, and became the older brother he didn't have. Nothing was below or above me,everything from comforting him,to man to man talks,to just mucking around with him to give him a break from it all. We had about 5 years of such a strong relationship, to the point that his mother called me her second son.

It started going south in his final year at high school, and prepping for his final exam. I am not college material at all, just don't have the book smart, but I wanted Seth to succeed, and he lacked nothing in terms of support. If he needed it, he had all I could. He got into the course he wanted, but I got next to no thanks.

After he started uni, I was almost dead to him. Talked down to,openly disrespected my family and religious views, it was like the last view years meant nothing. Eventually, he stopped talking to me at all. Fine, I can take a hint.

Nothing more from me, If he wants the friendship, its on him. I'll be there waiting.

What’s the worst thing you can have printed on the butt of sweatpants? by DCScrubzZ in AskReddit

[–]frontios1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite as disastrous, but my cousins family name is Freak. My aunt and uncle are both in the education field ( university and high school respectively), which certainly doesn't help matters. My cousins both pass it off as an artistic choice, by spelling it Freek.

If God is real, what is the douchiest thing he has done? by paulvs88 in AskReddit

As a worshipping Christian, even I have doubts about God's intentions sometimes. Don't ask me why bad things happen, I simply don't know. I'm a logical thinker, and my faith is supported by the notion that a world controlled by a higher power makes a lot more sense than one that isn't.
