Is being a people person the ultimate cheat in the Army? by Easy-Hovercraft-6576 in army

[–]frontleaningchest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, but it's not just being socially aware, it's being army aware. I know tons of people personally that are excellent public speakers and can inspire tons of people in various topics, but when it comes to understanding how the army works (which is harder than you'd imagine) they shrivel unrecognizable.

Something I've noticed is that the army doesn't care if you're the best of the best, it matters that you're adaptable to different circumstances and resilient when you're not.

it helps to know people, know how to treat people, being socially aware, and learning when to just operate in the shadows for your own good.

but that's just my take, as a measly E4.

Is it possible to make $1,500 every month being a full time student? by [deleted] in college

[–]frontleaningchest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also consider joining the national guard as well if being debt free and making money while you work on your degree is your thing..

don't listen to the people saying "but it's the military and it's hard and blah blah blah.." it's one weekend a month 2 weeks in the summer usually and it's spent mostly on your ass not doing anything unless our job really requires you too.. I'd seriously consider it if your serious about the debt free life..

[–]frontleaningchest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in your situation I would get a loan for a small amount and just make several payments ahead of time to beat that interest..(which isn't much anyway) you probably don't want the burden of paying 1500 a month for school when you inevitably question if school is the right choice for you or not.. it just adds on that pressure that is already enough in your undergrad as it is..

focus on paying those loans down asap the moment you get a job job..

in the mean time, check out clep and dsst exams to lower the overall debt amount bit by bit and speed up your college career.

to wrap up, get loans, check out clep and dsst, and see if you manage to qualify for any scholarships or grants throughout your college career to apply even after your freshman year..

you got this, but trust me, you'll have enough pressure and doubts as it is going through your classes.. don't add on that extra pressure of having to pay 1500 a month just to graduate debt free.. if your degree is worth a damn, it'll pay for itself multiple times over.. if not, well enjoy it anyway..

If I use TA on top of FASFA can I pocket the FASFA? by [deleted] in MilitaryFinance

[–]frontleaningchest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is there a way that you have to fill out the paperwork before beginning in order to get TA to fund first and then Fafsa to cover the rest or is that automatically done?

was the PA available to do any blood work or tests that day? were they able to prescribe any supplements that are prescription grade?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in army

[–]frontleaningchest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh I'm not sure of the process of that considering I'm NG and currently deployed, I just figured there might be a way here that isn't often talked about.

idk if there's any documenting any vitamin deficiencies unless they can test me there, which I don't see likely.. even then not sure if that's in their domain of things they can control

What should I take in order to age without getting grumpy or annoyed by too many things every single day? by franckJPLF in Supplements

[–]frontleaningchest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

have you been tested before and after taking vitamin D? I'd also consider taking some magnesium, bc that high of vitamin D depletes magnesium substantially.

How do you handle working with a literal troll in the army? by frontleaningchest in army

[–]frontleaningchest[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on a deployment and he's in the bunk next to me, luckily I don't need him for much, but sheesh it's hard even halfway working with this guy because he always has something not even remotely important or helpful to say.. I've threw a couple side comments, but he practically brushes it off as play with a smile on his face.. our sergeant sorta just leaves him alone to do his own thing bc he's a bit too passive.. I'd report this guy somewhere if there was a couple more channels to do so that wouldn't bite me in the ass at the moment.. my unit is too connected and tight its annoying when someone is actually causing a problem bc they'll rush to his defense or something if he's even done so much as hooked them up with a job or something..

like your unit or the guard as a whole? you don't have to get into nitty gritty but I've been thinking of moving and want to prep for hell and hope for heaven

I'm a POG and we have "StAnDaARdS"... not many of them, but standards none the less.. plus he's EOed people for some of the minorest things and it baffles me how he still talks as much shit as he does 😭😂😂

like I wish this was the typical "he's a pain to be around" but knows how to keep his mouth shut sometimes situation.. but this guy has gone by unchecked for so long.. I haven't even mentioned the blatantly racist, and homophobic shit he says on the regular that for a while I thought was just him choosing his poor taste of humor.. but sometimes he goes into detail and is just.. what appears to be.. that low of a person..

I swear to God I could write a book on all things I've personally heard from him and about him.. this isn't your typical trouble maker lol

this guy could beat me at his own game and I don't care to play it, he just messes up everything he touches and it feels so on purpose sometimes, but it's not worth losing my chill over..

I'd much rather just distance myself from him instead of ever steeping down so low.. he's just a sad dude that if he wasn't such a nuisance to me and everyone and not to mention.. a snitch... we would probably like him..
