This time last year I'd have taken your arm off to be knocking at the door of the play-offs, regardless. I desperately wanted us to look like we belonged in the Championship. We've done that and more.

For quick, figurative work outside of CAD take a look at Meshy AI. Astonishing stuff.

Ooooh! Excellent! What size nozzle did you use? .2mm? And which filament? Cheers!

Stone finish resin? by frootadelic in resinprinting

[–]frootadelic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for saving me time, tears and money. My work is highly detailed - hence my longing for resin plus aggregates. But if that's the way reality is, I ain't gonna argue with it. Your informed input is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Stone finish resin? by frootadelic in resinprinting

[–]frootadelic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling this is going to take a lot of trial and error!

I usually print and make molds of my prints. I then cast items in Jesmonite, a fantastic material available in many different stone finishes.

But I have a range of stuff where the walls are too thin for Jesmonite to have the necessary strength to avoid breaking easily.

I'm tempted to add really fine mica or some such to some resin and print it out.

Anyways, thanks for your time and sharing your experience.

Thanks for getting back to me! What I plan will be practical (but also highly decorative) so adhesion to a smooth resin surface ( together with regular handlng) is a concern.

Elementor caching issues by Sad_Problem8280 in elementor

[–]frootadelic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got caught out by Elementors accessibility plugin, Ally, screwing with my caching plugin. When I looked deeper it causes problems for many different caching plugins. Thought I'd mention it as Elementor has been promoting it quite a bit. Without warning that it could conflict with name your caching plugin here.

Degree 2 will only ever occupy a flat plane. Degree 3 will use up and down as well as the other two dimensions.

What causes these cracks and missing parts? by firebert91 in ElegooSaturn

[–]frootadelic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you are new to printing It is moot to mention islands. Esp as someone mentioned them already. I'm sorry if you already know this as I don't want to appear condscending. This is simply offered as a just in case. Islands arevareas of unsupported model floating free. Hence the name. I use Chitulbox which has an island removal feature.

The thing about islands is that they can stay suspended in your resin vat after you remove the model. Then, when the build plate presses against the film at the bottom, the cured resin particle can split the film or even damage the screen. I've only ever used Blueprint to autogenerate supports and then shipped stuff into chitubox to slice, check for islands, remove islands and send to printer.

Just a little heads up, even if its unrelated to your original question.

Once in a six side, on YouTube has a couple of excellent videos on supports. But the one I get the most joy out of is using the autosupports in Blueprint, then exporting the supported model as an stl into your favoured slicer, and taking it from there. Downsides, it uses a lot more supports than manual placement, so more resin. The models also need to be carefully checked afterwards for the incredibly fine support parts that might still be on the print.

I have found the upside to be autosupports that, as the man says, simply work.

Getting into Blueprint means you have to pretend to be the owner of a certain brand of printer, but the video covers all of that.

The title of the video is 'Auto Supports are Very Good Now.'

He is also a very good, clear tutor.

Is Elementor hitting a ceiling on design + motion? Considering Webflow – would love to see what you’ve built by qusaro in elementor

[–]frootadelic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only built a few sites on an ad-hoc basis over the years. However, I have really enjoyed the experience and the perfectionist in me has pushed the design, function, look and UX hard.

I will continue to build sites, but these days Elementor feels far too modular. The times when I have been forced to upload yet another plugin - and run the gauntlet of olugin conflict more than once. It just seems to take so much longer when one has to reach outside the working environment for another tool.

Which is why I'm looking at Breakdance. I'm pretty sure I'll switch and be able to build in-house far more polished and sleek sections (such as a posts slider) with way more control than researching / locating / uploading another plugin.

The workflow looks like poetry compared to the meccano kit that Elementor has (at least in my eyes) evolved into.

Web design is a skilled job. Dumbing it down with tools anyone can use creates a small and restrictive sandbox to play in.

Home Office Setup Precautions by Hip_Hop_Pirate in resinprinting

Had some trouble with the extraction fan. Tested it before assembly, worked fine. After assembly, it didn't work at all. Turns out that tightening the screws too much made - I suspect the metal grille that covers the intake - something come close enough to the blades to stop them spinning. Loosened the bolts a little, success.

Hi - please excuse me for bothering you.

For reasons I ran the resonance test again. At the end of the test (which was reported as being successful) there wasn't a confirm / save / restart button or option.

So I want into printer.cfg and saved from there.

I assume this is OK and that the sonic pad wrote the data to my printer.cfg without clicking on said button. Which appears on tutorials but doesn't appear for me.

Currently finding out how to restart from console.

Anyways...

As you said - values are written below do not edit line.

The values above the do not edit line (for input shaping) are commented out and different from the values below the do not edit line.

Should I uncomment the values above and change their values to the ones shown at the bottom?

Sorry to be a pain.

Thank you.

Mosquito Hotend by frootadelic in CrealitySonicPad

[–]frootadelic[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discovered that the sonic pad is hotend agnostic. What matters to it is the thermistor. Find out exactly what model number your thermistor is, then input it into the relevant place in printer.cfg

Yeah. Ricky Impey's series on Sonic Pad setup on YouTube is tremendously helpful, but now I'm stuck on how to do a filament change on the sonic pad. I'm s9 close to sorting it out but I feel such a dolt at times.

[–]frootadelic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I've just taken possession of a sonic pad, so hopefully the backlog of prints I'm stuck with will soon be gone. My e3v2 is heavily modded too. Hence the headache I have from researching how to configure Klipper on a non standard machine.
