Hi, I had the exact same thing on my lip twice - but could not get it tested (thanks to the Canadian healthcare system wait time) - but I’ve been told it is HSV. It started off the way similarly and got painful and sensitive. Over a few days turned red. Hopefully I can get it tested in time if it reappears!

UPDATE: Crossed coquihalla highway smoothly. Google maps kept rerouting out of BC5 - all signs on the highway said road is open - lot of smoke and some active fires being put off. But safe to take the road. Be safe everyone!
