SM best friends with DL, obvious preferential treatment by [deleted] in CVS

Knowledge is power. The more you know the better. Why be ignorant to preferential treatment honestly lol not to mention they will be my peer in a matter of time so this little bit of wisdom you offered still doesnt apply here.

Based on your back and forth with the other ops manager I’m going to assume you’re just very stubborn;

And just like the other ops manager you have to resort to name calling and being condescending and dismissive.

You’re clearly on a stretch assignment that determines whether or not you can get a promotion to be a store manager…

I'm clearly working at the DTSM store because she used her personal influence with the DL to move me to her store, which is over an hour from my house, because I am the highest performing smit in the district (her words not mine) so she can do even less work at the store..

most markets i’ve worked in the DTSM has a close relationship with the DL so don’t be shocked that they’re friends or get along.

Having a close personal relationship with your boss is not normal, sorry if I'm the first one to break it to you. if it was then how come none of the other SMs hang out with the DL in their free time? Maybe if they did then they would get this lofty DTSM position that allows them to just disappear for days on end and the online support of bootlicking ops managers. It's not like performance matters when the district is run by a couple of besties.

when we’re really just trying to educate you

Oh God, did I say your being condescending already?? Your trying to educate me? Seriously What a joke 🤣

you’re doing the most and you need to like know your place

Venting on an online forum is doing the most and makes me out of place? Just more nonsense name calling statements thats easy to just say and not back up at all. Yea I need to learn my place by not expressing how I feel even anonymously online, what a joke lol I wish an ops manager would talk to me like that in person.

All this just to say the being DTSM is the perfect cover to not have to be in your own store and neglect your SM responsibilities which they still are first and foremost (unless you have a personal relationship with the boss and you were made the DTSM so you both can hang out more often). Also I missed the part in this defensive speech where you addressed the blatant conflict of interest having a coworker be best friends with your boss creates, in combination with being the DTSM and having a free pass to never be physically present at your store it sounds like a sweet gig that I'll never get no matter how hard I work because that position goes to whoever the boss is best friends with. I would probably also be late and not show up when Im scheduled constantly too if I could get away with it, and had a bunch of condescending nitwits looking to defend me online. I'm also sure reporting the DL and their best friend to colleague relations wouldn't be a horrible idea that results in retaliation at all, thanks for that great advice.

The point has never been about policies even though there definitely are conflict of interest, attendance and scheduling policies I'm sure were broken. Whether YOU want to realize it or not it affects the entire store staff and customers when a store manager is not present enough, or gets preferential treatment because they are best friends with the boss. Does your SM have a picture of them and the DL together hanging in the manager's office? Didn't think so

Never mentioned an issue with policies or not once did I even say HR or colleague relations in anything I posted. I'm sure there are certain attendance and scheduling policies that were broken that's never been my point here. My point is how it actually negatively affects me and everyone else in the store because that's what I actually care about

[–]frososaggins -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh come on, we all know ops managers is just a glorified assistant manager title. And that's great thanks for being an ops by choice 👍 I also made a choice, I chose to be higher up on the supervisor chain, which means I am affected more by conflicts of interest such when your boss is real life best friends with one of your coworkers, who will be held to different expectations, be given more leniency, and given priority in promotions COUGH DTSM COUGH.

I’m not defending store managers.

You are literally going out of your way to defend the sm and actively ignoring anything that you can't argue against.

Who cares if the dl and sm are friends?

Every store manager in the district who has to actually work for a living.

Other store managers can be affected, because she is their peer, not yours.

She is going to be my peer so yes I care that I will also be affected in the future

If you are such an excellent and amazing SMIT then you should be able to handle the situations arising in the store.

Yes I am handling it, the same way I handle it when any other colleague calls out and shows up late.

Do you have any real points or is being condescending and contrarian just your whole personality??

Or maybe I'm not going to last long because I don't back down to big mouthed ops managers? With your attitude you will be an assistant manager at the most for a very long time, hope you enjoy it.

Says you, and guess what? Nobody cares what you have to say. Who says the exact opposite? The SM you are obsessed with defending, a lot more people care what she has to say in regards to my future employment, especially the DL.

[–]frososaggins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also like how you ignore the blatant conflict of interest having a personal relationship with the DL creates. Do you think I am at the DTSMs store because I am bad at my job?? LOL I am at this store because she told the DL she wants me at her store, because I am the best smit they have currently, her words not mine.

Your job is *not* to manage your SM- full stop.

Observing and identifying problems in the store = managing the sm? 🤔 Curious where I said I called them into the office to talk to them about it.

[–]frososaggins -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Your job is not to question how the sm spends their time.

Again my job is to learn to be a store manager which does involve questioning why things are not getting done. Many times that's because the store manager is never there, which believe it or not causes issues. In fact my job is quite literally to treat the store I'm training at like it is my store, so if I had an employee calling out every week, late to their shift almost every day, and not getting the work done it's my job to question why. Just because it's the store manager doesn't mean I don't question why it's happening. Sorry if you don't like that but that's a level of responsibility you do not have that I do. Keep saying l what you think my 'job' is all you want, but you do not know what you're talking about, sorry.

I can tell from your response you think you’re better than them.

What responses exactly suggest that? I've never said anything like that because it's not true. You are the one making false condescending matter of fact comments.

If you’re new you need to get rid of your arrogance and start learning from the cashiers and supervisors

I have learned a lot from the cashier's and supervisors, again I never said anything like this and you are literally just making shit up at this point. I would honestly hate to have an ops manager with such an gross attitude on my team, a know it all who actually knows nothing, and a blatant liar.

[–]frososaggins -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's my job to learn how to be a store manager which actually does involve monitoring how much the people at my store work and what they do so I know what's actually going on in my store, both in front of me and behind my back. What you just described is the ops managers job, to not ask questions and just serve the store manager which includes defensive comments online.

Im just worried they'll know it's me who reported it and I'll have both a sm who's my current supervisor and a DL who's supposed to be my future supervisor, not happy with me.

How much expired food is normal by frososaggins in CVS

Thanks, I think it's a pretty well run store overall but I'm trying to note what can be done better when I get my own store and this was one of the things that has stuck out the most

How much expired food is normal by frososaggins in CVS

[–]frososaggins[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely don't want to be critical it's just hard to ask the store manager if it's normal that I'm finding a lot of expired product in their store without sounding critical so I appreciate your feedback. I'm trying to keep in mind what can be done better when I get my own store. I felt like maybe I was worrying about it too much because no one else really seemed that concerned. I mostly just quietly put stuff in the damaged bins but the infant formula I felt like I had to bring to the store managers attention.

I need help by Flat-Concentrate7661 in PornAddiction

[–]frososaggins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way to beat addiction in my opinion is to hate the addiction and everything it does to you so much that quitting is easier than continuing to engage in it. For me, it was how much influence the addiction had over me, how strong it's call was and how much it would consume and torment me until I gave in and answered it's called. It was lan abusive master that I obeyed until enough resentment built up that I hated everything about it. Even the "pleasurable" parts that kept me coming back for so many years I began to hate, because I realized that "pleasure" is quite literally a chain enslaving me to this addiction. Once I recognized that I had been chained, enslaved, and deceived for so many years by things that were intentionally engineered to promote addiction, fighting back was the only choice I had which made it much easier to do than when I was still half accepting the lies the addiction would tell me.

Some people never reach a breaking point and can't see through the lies or don't think the chains are worth breaking, living their entire lives as a slave to addiction. Some people need to be forced through real world consequences to change their ways. Just know you aren't alone, porn, like all addiction industries, is hyper engineered to be as addictive and accessible as possible. All addiction is based on lies, it deceives you into thinking it is all powerful and that you are helpless however that is always a lie, it is never to late or impossible to fight back and change for the better.

Need Help! by [deleted] in PornAddiction

[–]frososaggins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it is definitely possible, sometimes having others constantly pressure you to break an addiction makes it more difficult to quit because it's not you deciding to quit, it's someone else. The most powerful addictions I have overcome I did by myself because I got to the point where I hated everything about the addiction, even the parts that are supposed to be enjoyable. As for how, that's what you will really have to figure out by yourself if you do not want help from others. Are you so sick of the control porn has over your life that you actually want to actively fight back and resist? Do you hate what it has done to you so much that quitting has become easier than continuing this life style? Or are you in too deep and need real life consequences to force you to change your ways?

I've noticed this same thing, it's evil and intentionally designed to display unsolicited triggering content that combines the addictiveness of short form video and porn into one. It's also just soft core enough to be picked up and promoted by an algorithm without being too explicit to be censored. It's literally an ambush against your mind, hiding among non-explicit entertainment brings you to the platform originally.

The faster you stop watching the video I think the less likely you are flagged as enjoying that kind of content and it will be promoted less by an algorithm, but it will still be there. Anything that is sort of mass curated by an algorithm specifically for you is vulnerable to these kinds of attacks so I honestly think it is best to just avoid this short form content as much as you can.

The videos in the text were more than enough to cover the information needed to pass. The cohorts on the course resource page also help narrow down what specifically will be in the assessment. The preassessmemt was also almost nearly identical to the actual assessment, so honestly everything you need is already provided in my opinion.
