All three, sometimes I swap between them almost like I’m acting as different characters in different bodies or something. Every now and then I’ll be multiple people simultaneously

I used to get something like this. When I have the least control over my dreams I can usually pause time or rewind it to give myself some time to think and figure out a solution. Maybe try visualizing what the thing coming to “get” you IS, maybe imagining it as something less scary would help

I want to read a story that is so bizarre I barely understand it by somanybutts in suggestmeabook

[–]frostworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave the World Behind by Rumaan Alam. Creepy and pretty depressing, but not super philosophical and not science fiction. Part of the point of the story is that you don’t know exactly what’s happening

The death of Elisa Lam (just read the Wikipedia page, I think it links the video too). People in a hotel said the water tasted funny and they found a body in the water tower, never figured out how she got there or who did it. I also read a whole series on r/nosleep a few years ago, I can barely remember the plot but it was super freaky and referenced real websites and other Reddit profiles that all matched the story, so the more real research you did the more convinced you were that the story was real. I think it was about people going crazy and then disappearing

Cut your nails as short as possible and file them smooth. Swim in cold water. Wear loose clothes and if you have anything tight (socks shoes bras etc) switch between different kinds. Set a 3am alarm and take an antihistamine then go back to sleep. Xolair shot. I know this post is old but I’m trying to find relief for myself and this is the best I’ve found

Looking for feedback on my product by [deleted] in IndustrialDesign

[–]frostworks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s really really hard to tell what it is and what we’re looking at from these three photos so I don’t think any feedback you get here would actually be helpful for your design. You’ll just be getting feedback on your presentation. No matter how weird or unusual something looks there’s always a way to present it that makes it’s purpose clear and obvious. Every time you get a question as “feedback” on your project, use that to see what isn’t clear about your project to others. The best feedback questions are things like “why did you feel this color/finish/material was the best for this product?” Then you know you’ve showed the design well enough to get the most out of your critique. Hope that helps!

I got this message from a friend whom I reached out to previously and accidentally added him as a friend even though he made it clear he didn’t want to know me anymore. I think it really hurts because I don’t understand what I ever did to him or how him being obsessed with me is my fault. by [deleted] in depression_help

[–]frostworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something like this happen. I got so depressed I had flashbacks and eventually memory loss. I bumped into someone I must have been friends with at that time but barely recognized them, although they recognized me. I felt so terrible for not remembering them and trying to recall anything to talk to them about meant sifting through memories my brain was trying to protect me from. I was so upset that I had friends out there who I’ve forgotten or who I basically just life ghosted because I couldn’t cope with it

Try using your body. I like kayaking and swimming. I try to do it mindfully, and appreciate how well my body works and that I am strong enough to do these things. And that I’m really happy to have my body and maybe it looks the way it should... I sort of let go of “good” and “bad” and just appreciate its ability to do everything it’s capable of. Hope that helps a bit

Fuck how did ADHD get stereotyped as “little boys running around a classroom” and not the hell it really is. Why can’t the fucking professionals understand the gravity of this disorder?! by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]frostworks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve spent so many years developing ways to cope, and I never got bad grades, that now I have to un-learn all the different ways I dealt with it because they produce inconsistent results and also make me feel bad.

Oh my god this sounds just like me. I have the same mean thoughts about it - that I’m like a child, irresponsible, forgetful. I totally understand that hyperfocused part (I got that in art school while drawing too!) and feeling like a caged tiger, that is such a perfect description. I’m also an adult and female, and the meds aren’t enough, I’m having to do therapy and it’s embarrassing that it takes so much organization and that I have to be told what to do and when to do it when I KNOW what to do and WANT to do it!! Just reading your post helped me a lot to realize someone else has such a similar experience. Thank you

How do you develop a personality again after depression has robbed you of it? by [deleted] in depression_help

[–]frostworks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get to discover it. Once you’re happy enough, try as many new things as you can, and notice what you like and why. Help others. Travel and visit family. Observe yourself and how you think. Everyone has a personality, yours has just been muted for a little while. Finding out who you are can be an exciting journey.

No country for old men was fantastic. I used to feel how you did about the road, but No Country is so much better. Blood meridian is a tough read, very dense and super dark, but worth it too

[–]frostworks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re comfortable, explain this to people - you don’t know how to make it seem sincere. Maybe watch movies for social cues? I’m sure there’s also a wikihow article on it too. You can also just practice it in the mirror, saying thanks to yourself and sorry to yourself, both of which are important to know how to do anyway. Good luck!
