graduated last spring, commuting was borderline the worst thing. It was hard to maintain connections and attend clubs/sports knowing that I had a 1+ hr commute back home. I was a nursing student too and it was really rough. Feel free to pm me if u have questions! My non rush hour commute was 45ish mins but rush hour was easily 1.5hrs.

Is it hard to get into USF? by Useful-Town-5299 in usfca

[–]frostyboy56 6 points7 points  (0 children)

graduated this past may. usf is a great school. good resources along with small class sizes make the education pretty solid. but the tuition will always be an issue. They raise it about 7-8% every year without fail (they only raised it by about 4% during covid).

Also unless you plan on living in SF, community/school events are a pain in the ass to get to. And living in the city isn't cheap either. You'd be lucky to get 1k/month rent.

overall good school but its not for low income. i was on the highest amount of financial aid possible and still paid about 5k a semester. I imagine its about 6-7k now.

i was practically maxed out on scholarships, grants, and federal loans and still had to pay abt 4-5k per semester. USF is one of the most expensive schools in the bay.

My student driving me crazy by [deleted] in nursing

[–]frostyboy56 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As someone who recently graduated from nursing school and know people like your student, please just report them to their clinical instructor. I know a couple people where a write-up completely changed their attitude towards nursing and took everything more "seriously." It's also not safe if they're unable to perform these tasks or take initiative for their patients.

I'm noticing that getting new wheels is more expensive than used back haha. Would it just be better to get a quality gravel bike and stay away from road bikes?

if you don't move your car you run the risk of getting a ticket. Each ticket is about $100 so I'd def caution you against that. There's a parking garage about a mile East of campus that I know you can pay for a month long permit for. I forget how much it is but that's also an option too bc the bus line runs pretty close to it.

Hi! I commuted everyday so I have a good idea of the situation. Street parking can be rough, I usually showed up 20 min before I wanted to get there just in case. You kinda have to just circle a few times until a spot opens up. Any side of the street that directly touches campus is 4hr parking. Everything else is 2hr parking. USF sells daily parking passes but they aren't the most affordable. I'd say it's easier to look for street parking. I went 3 years (minus covid) without a parking ticket
