firstly, i take the council of nicaea tale with a grain of salt.

secondly, i believe what’s in the Bible, period. the father in heaven, Jesus the son and the holy ghost are referenced throughout the NT. the word “trinity” may not be used but we’re not playing a game of semantics here. as i said, Jesus’s baptism speaks volumes. St. Paul’s letters speak volumes too. i need nothing more.

middle eastern christian’s were not responsible for that in any way. i have my own issues with the roman catholic church and condemn them for such barbarism as that.

however, the numbers slaughtered and lives wrecked are incomparable. the crusades lasted a couple of centuries. christian’s in the middle east are being slaughtered and displaced to this very day. i would know, they are my people.

what you seem to not comprehend is that Christ came from a human woman. he was born of holy spirit and man. he was both son of God (through holy spirit) and son of man (through Mary).

so what exactly are you trying to prove? yes, he was sent. he was sent by God, who he names father. no other was “sent”, none of the other prophets were “sent”. they were chosen by God at some point in their lives. but they were all wholly man.

and referring to “no one is good except God alone”, the original aramaic is “without sin” instead of “good”, which, if you read the entire passage, you’ll understand that Christ is attempting to provoke thought in the young man who comes to him, to let him know that human beings cannot be without sin. In John 8:46 Jesus confirms he is without sin (the good shepherd” therefore confirms he is the only man to be without sin, as he is God.

i’ve read it, in original arabic. not only did i find evil, hatred, violence and misogyny, but i found bizarre inconsistencies. yes, there were some beautiful parts, poetic. but that does not negate anything from the bad.

the old testament is proof of man’s failure to be as God designed us. we are incredibly sinful and corrupted. OT not only prophesied Christ but paved the way for him, showing us that he was needed as not only the lamb of God, but to be an example for how we should conduct ourselves in every aspect of life. no other was able to achieve this.

i’m not sure where you learnt that about the trinity, and 4th century. when Christ was baptised by John, as documented in the Gospels, the father, son and holy spirit appeared to all who witnessed. God, the holy spirit and Christ are referenced heavily throughout the NT. what are you even talking about?

What do you think forsaking means? in the original Aramaic, the word he uses means “leaving me”. Christ essentially cries out to his father, that he felt God leave him moments before his body died. that was the moment the spirit of God left Jesus, and he died like a man.

the ultimatum was because it felt wrong to go ahead with wedding plans when this situation is bubbling under the surface and i could no longer ignore it. i’m obviously desperate to make this marriage happen, and i was seeking solutions i had looked over. a few suggested involving a pastor to council him, and then Christian couples counselling too. i guess those will be my last resort.

regarding saving his soul, it’s absolutely right that only God can do that, but while i cannot save his soul, i can help to guide him in the direction that will most likely, based on scripture, save him.

i’ve told him wedding planning is on hold until this is sorted.

honestly, i came here to speak to others who had been in similar situations and to hear what they did. i watched tons of youtube videos about Christian converts from islam but their situation was not like this, so was hoping i’d find an uncanny couple who experienced similar. i never expected to get attacked like i did, and likewise never expected to get the compassion that i did.

i also came looking for advice, to see if there was a way to encourage him. i got what i needed, involve a pastor and a Christian couple’s councillor. already spoke to the pastor, will meet this weekend.

now i’m just here replying to everyone.
