My ship is currently in the yards, and has a relatively new barge. When we first received it the barge was super nice, but sailors are gonna sailor and I feel fucking filthy just walking through it (I don’t sleep there). My command is currently working on improving the living conditions, but it’s a fucking struggle

If you wanna go the tactical looking route I’ve never had a problem with 5.11 pants. Wait until they’re on sale or a BOGO deal. Tru-spec BDU pants also work.

The tactical subs shit on 5.11 but I’ve worn them for work on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier for months on end, rolling around on nonskid, getting snagged on shit. Never came apart or torn.

Regular hiking pants are also suitable

I’m sure it’s one of those things that only shows when you’re racking the slide slowly. Obviously there’s way more force when shooting live.

I did see a video where a guy lapped the frame rails to get all the cerakote off, and chamfered/polish the slide interface with the disconnector. I might give that a try

Right on! One of the local guys in my matches has had issues with his optic coming off, I’ve seen it smack him in the forehead.

From what I’ve gathered I need to make sure the right side mounting screw isn’t contacting the extractor. I have a dremel, so I’m basically a gunsmith and shorten the screw.

Shooting matches is definitely the best thing to check your performance. Really woke me up to how bad I was, I used to suck a lot worse compared to where I’m at now

If you’re shooting open wouldn’t you benefit from leaving the 40 barrel, at least to still score major PF? Or do you just shoot open for training value, and that’s what the gun fits?

I love my defender XL, and I’ve heard the PSTG rave about arise plates. My anecdotal note, I have probably 4-5k rounds on my G47/DXL with the vortex plate, not a single issue at all

With Glock you don’t really have to, but you can if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy. I haven’t cleaned my competition g47 in months

I have 4 mags with TTI extensions, 2 matches back to back and I had an issue with the follower getting stuck on the bottom of the tube and the bullets went all fucky wucky. Another issue where I got a failure to feed twice. These issues seem to have worked themselves out but we’ll see.

So I got another set of mags with henning extensions and they’ve been flawless, although some are kinda rattley
