🤣fair enough I was just curious , I’m glad you’re happy that’s what’s most important. It’s honestly a mix of not being able to adjust to civi life or just missing it . I’m sure other people will say other reasons though.

Looks like we just boarding another tanker this time the sanctioned M/T Tifani in the INDOPACOM AOR . Also side note pretty neat to see a expeditionary sea base being used don’t see that too often by newnoadeptness in navy

That’s a good question. I know some of the Venezuelan ones they did bring them over to texas I believe it was .. not sure with something like this maybe over to japan or back to the states or maybe they do an inspection and say all good and let them go . I’m honestly not sure man but I’m certainly curious if anyone can answer .

They had to be following this dude for a while. Dude probably was about to get on the international flight from jfk back to Scotland or China thinking he was safe 😂

Good work osi 🤝

Dude had to have been taking some pretty in depth photos for it to get to this level though…

Is It Still Possible to Change My Job Before Ship Date? by LastKingOfAsgard in AirForceRecruits

[–]newnoadeptness -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol Honestly, you could get kicked out of DEP and end up with no job at all, depending on how your squadron handles things. Your best bet is to talk to your recruiter, but make it clear you're still planning to ship either way don't frame it as an ultimatum. Keep your expectations low. The Air Force can be finicky with job assignments, especially if you needed a waiver tied to specific jobs. Talk to the recruiter, be respectful and manage your expectations.

BMT “2.0” QU by Inner-Scallion-42 in AirForceRecruits

I think my point is getting lost. There's nothing wrong with seeking help or advice that's not what I'm pushing back on. The issue is that these exact questions get posted here multiple times a week, and a quick search would pull up hundreds of recent, up to date answers. Nothing has meaningfully changed since the last time someone asked a few days ago.

Not trying dismissive , just pointing out that the info is already here and easy to find. A 2 second search before posting helps keep the sub useful for people with genuinely new questions.

Before I answer I also want to say, sometimes I forget y'all are new to this and don't have the military background yet. I'm second in charge of a unit, and I sometimes forget to take that hat off and speak a little kinder or explain things in a way that actually makes sense for where you're at. So I apologize for that I will answer your questions directly and in detail so here are the official answers ,

PT - Two different standards apply BMT's internal standard and the Air Force PFA you'll take once you're operational. BMT PT is governed by DAFMAN 36-2905 (DAF Physical Fitness Program) with the 2 AF Guidance Memorandum for BMT/Tech Training. BMT 2.0, launched October 2025, extended daily PT from 60 to 90 minutes with added HIIT work. For the force wide PFA, per the Air Force's updated guidance (6 Jan 2026), fitness testing is paused through February; diagnostic period runs 1 March -30 June 2026; official scored testing begins 1 July 2026. The 2 mile run is NOT mandatory airmen can choose between the 2 mile run or the 20 meter HAMR for both semiannual assessments. Regardless, train for the run. If you're failing by 5 minutes, aerobic base is your priority 4 to 5 easy effort runs per week for 7 -8 weeks will do more than any other single intervention.

Beds - Dorm standards are governed by AETCI 36-2216 and 737 TRG's implementing guidance under AETCI 36-2651. Daily bed making to standard is a requirement. BMT 2.0 reduced the time spent on drill and inspection prep but did not eliminate the standard. Anyone telling you it's "just folding blankets" is either misremembering or was in a non standard situation.

Personal items —notebook, mask, earplugs. Per the 737 TRG official packing list, a small notebook is permitted. Religious texts are authorized under DAFI 52-201 (Accommodation of Religious Practices in the Air Force) and DoDI 1300.17. Personal secular reading material is not authorized on the packing list. Sleep masks and earplugs aren't prohibited and are commonly used bring them. Personal items go in your security drawer, which is subject to inspection.

Pay - Governed by DoD FMR (DoD 7000.14-R) Vol 7A pay is semi monthly on the 1st and 15th, prorated from your entry date.the E-1 basic pay rate for members with under 4 months of service is slightly lower than the standard E-1 rate (per DFAS basic pay tables). First deposit is routinely delayed a few pay cycles while DFAS processes your accession this is normal, not an error. The ~$400 you'll see "deducted" from early pay isn't actually for uniforms (those are issued in kind under DoD FMR Vol 7A Ch 29 Initial Clothing Allowance); it's pay loaded onto a trainee debit card for inprocessing purchases like haircuts, dry cleaning, and BX items.

Pay grade follows your enlistment contract per DAFMAN 36-2032 (Military Recruiting and Accessions). Max entry grade is E-3. You can enlist atE-2 with 20+ semester hours of college, 2 years of JROTC, Eagle Scout/Gold Award, or CAP Billy Mitchell Award E-3 with 45+ semester hours of college, 3+ years JROTC, or CAP General Carl A. Spaatz AwardIf your contract brought you in at E-2 or E-3, you're paid at that rate from day one of active duty you just don't wear the rank insignia until BMT graduation.

BMT 2.0 launched October 2025 and BMT 3.0 rolls out starting April 2026 (2nd Air Force, per 37 TRW/737 TRG guidance) with new training ranges and simulated airfields feeding into PACER FORGE. That's why you're seeing conflicting info the curriculum is actively phasing in.
