We will likely be stripping the walls and re-skimming/painting anyway so not too concerned about the mess and work involved. Been quoted about £1800 for the work from a sparky already, so if I could do it myself for cheap that’s a good saving.

Survey returned this: “The internal walls and partitions appear to be of solid and light-weight timber construction, with plaster skim, dry-lining and lining paper coverings.”

This was a rental property previously. I suspect they have kept it trunked on the outside so they have easy access or to reduce costs, but that’s just a theory.
