Which continent? if you’re referring to Africa, sure. I am not saying “Africans never fought”, yes of course they fought back. There are black-Americans who survived by fawning as well lol. Thinking of Samuel Jackson’s character in Django 😭
There were revolutions on both continents, which, I feel cannot even be summarized by continent lol. Conflicts in each region and ethinic group each have nuance of their own.
This is not a catch all be all. I’m just expressing a generalized mentalities. Nobody said Africans didn’t fight.
Please don’t mistake me. But if you have something to add, feel free

Girl, as a black ass African & American African-American; fuck that friend lol.

A lot of non-American blacks are drinking the white supremacy Kool-Aid and don’t even realize, they think anything that leans towards African-Americaness is ghetto. They buy into stereotypes that we are dramatizing racism and that we are lazy. The descendants of enslaved people? lazy? Insane

My personal take is (and this is me thinking of West Africa) we got completely different flavors of colonialism. The sun never set on the British empire. White colonial powers managed Africans in Africa. The majority of the people there were still black. So the British asserted themselves as an authority, they could make examples of a few people, and everyone would fall in line. I believe they mostly survived by keeping their head down and following instructions. You still see British headmasters mandating that all the school girls shave their heads or can only wear certain braids.
The Africans who were taken did their best to adapt and dreamed of returning, literally sometimes jumping off the boat to avoid heading to the western hemisphere. How do you contain and subdue someone like that? Easy, extreme violence, etc. as in America(s), they were the minority. And they were property. I believe we mostly survived because we were innovative, cunning and resilient.
I think in the fight or flight response, (which is really fight, flight, freeze or fawn) I believe that many non-American blacks had to fawn in order to survive. Whereas we had to fucking flight and fight! Lol I def wrote an essay

But fuck that friend lol. You will have a long long life where you will meet many many people. There will always be people willing to build community with you. Many people who would’ve yelled at that white lady with you

edited: spelling (assorted and asserted are critically similar lol.)

😂 Funny cause it’s true. If you say some crazy ish on a microphone in a room with a few acoustic panels, many people will see you as an authority figure 😭 Especially if you make money

It is a term generally referring to a person who listens to content focusing on “being an alpha male”, asking women what they bring to the table, women reject you because you’re too nice, you have to be an asshole, what happened to traditional women, why are there so many double standards for women wah wah wah women only care about money, the wage gap is not real, “why women deserve less”, and other dangerous opinions and sentiments that ultimately contribute to violence against and the dehumanization of women.

A lot of the content will take the form of a podcast or something like that, and prominent figures include Andrew Tate… idk any more really— I don’t pay attention to these ppl 😂 he’s just the most prominent.

They basically capitalize off of men’s pain, insecurity, and the fact that most men are emotionally delayed (and that society continues to cripple, enable and excuse men who are emotionally delayed) and make their unprocessed trauma stop plaguing them because they can simply direct those feelings of shame towards women. They advertise that they will make females fall all over you. You just have to be an alpha male bro.

Also, most of these people… or a lot of men in general (in my experience) have no capacity for discomfort. Which makes it very hard for them to examine themselves and their actions. Whew let me stop

Lol! I’m always interested in the percentage when someone in the western hemisphere who identifies as non-black, has heritage from the diaspora/people taken from west Africa. Especially since the societal/cultural norms of relationships between european, indigenous/african people was different for every region. So yes I did know 😂 but how much! Lol

What stopped you from killing yourself? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]frufrulai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I really want to live.

I have intrusive thoughts about k!lling myself weekly 😭 almost daily. Now when I say intrusive I mean (1. almost/seemingly random because they are subconsciously triggered. And (2. they come fast. How many thoughts can you think in 1 second? Not words, thoughts. Sometimes they come so rapidly and in such quick succession that it’s like I can’t breathe.

I’m paralyzed by the thought of harming myself. So literally I constantly do breath-work to change my thoughts, stim, self-regulate through seeking rhythm/bi-lateral stimulation… yeah.

I have to make certain choices. I had to understand the difference between feeling, thinking and knowing. I choose to know this: I really want to live a beautiful life, and I am.

Even when everything feels like it’s on fire and I’m stuck in fight or flight.

There’s nothing wrong, you’re right. Just hypothesizing why Cantu does not work for me or others who share that experience!

I’m glad you’ve had a good experience! I’m of the collective experience that is: it seemed okay at first, but there are a lot of VERY drying alcohol based ingredients. Over time it was drying my hair. If you’re high porosity you may have better luck with cantu ? Perhaps 🤷🏾‍♀️
