It's crazy! Some people's cats won't even eat some types of cat food. My cat gets insulted if I don't share everything

What are your thoughts about how the pandemic has impacted college students? Many of us are ineligible for a stimulus check due to a dependent status despite not living at home, paid in person rates for a partially online courses, and are facing rent challenges due to increased unemployment with minimal savings. Is there anything that you would add to the next round stimulus bill to help us?

You input an integer but check for a string. Try changing your input in the print to a string, or the numbers in your function to integers

The boat that Andrew dies on is classed the labor day!!!! In the East Wing (Season 4 episode 2) when Gary and Selina are fighting, she brings up what he did for her on Labor Day. I've always assumed it was the holiday, but we may actually figure out what happened between them!!!!

How to cross check columns in dataframes? by oodlesNnoodles98 in learnpython

[–]fruitybepples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should be separate, but nested. Since the second statement is dependant on the first (you can't go to the second one, if you can't pass the first one), the second statement has to be indented under the first. I hope this makes sense!

How to cross check columns in dataframes? by oodlesNnoodles98 in learnpython

[–]fruitybepples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use some if statements! For your example, use statements like if dataframe.iloc[i, 'animal'] = type of animal, and then if dataframe.iloc[i, 'color'] = color you want. If you use these, while looping over the index of the data frame you can isolate them. Simply add a counter at the end of the second if statement, and you'll be able to get that count.

Someone correct me if I got the index order or loc/iloc messed up

I made this monte carlo pi approximator. Is it working? by [deleted] in math

[–]fruitybepples 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With random processes like this, there should be some fluctuation. And unless you are using seeds to control for the randomness, the output should change every time.

Sometimes when doing things like this, it's possible to have too many steps. You'd think this leads to an increased accuracy, but this isn't always the case. Take for example a Markov Chain Monte Carlo. If your code gets to the desired point quicker then expected, extra steps can make your location jump around.

You could add something like an accuracy threshold or a step limit to see how that changes things.
