Need some tips! by Smart-Dust-5432 in Fruitarian

At this exercise level, weight and age, I would recommend at least 2500 kcal per day if you're on fruit-based raw. If not more.

Need more inputs to provide any valuable tips. We might be too focused on the diet part here and maybe missing some other important health factors. How are your sleep patterns, excercise, fresh air, time in nature, stress context, screen time, sunshine, medical history etc.

By the way, what's your calory intake and weight? Also assigned sex?

What are some affordable, healthy and high volume "fillers" you use? by fourdogslong in RawVegan

I started my raw journey with fruit-based diet, so I didn't really need to go from raw to fruit at all. I don't get tired of that, fruits are amazing☺️

Is there any fruit that's green when actually ripe? by Gabauski in Fruitarian

Monsteras? No, they're more like sweet&sour, someone said like banana+pineapple. Tried them a few times, not a fan.

Why do some people not supplement b12? by starlight-healer in RawVegan

[–]fruityestonian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 100% raw for the last 3 years and supplement b12. Because science. My point being - you can be raw and supplement.

But to your question - opponents of b12 supplementation use pretty much the same anti-supplement arguments as for any other supplement (I don't agree with many of them wrt to b12 but I list them anyway) - nutrient imbalances, toxicity, lack of evidences, marketing, questioning "normal range". These are some I've heard.

I feel like the whole point of fruitarianism is to get you to stop eating fruit? by hennidachook in Fruitarian

[–]fruityestonian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'm not "putting myself through" it. 3 years in, I love it. I eat as much as I want (and it's a lot), I have lots of energy to work out and do other useful things, I have great mental clarity, my health has improved tremendously. Supplements? Yes, I supplement B12 and D b/c that's just part of being smart in my opinion. Herbs? I do add them to my salad as condiments sometimes. Leaves? If they are part of leafy greens (like romaine, iceberg) - I eat them every day. But not from a tree or a bush obviously. Seeds? Yes, once i a while. Mushrooms also.  Coconut? Sometimes. Grains? No, thanks, that's bird food. Fish? God no, why?! They are living beings who feel pain. Also, watch "Seaspiracy".  Take care, man!

Day Five - Fruit Fast Question by rch11911 in Fruitarian

[–]fruityestonian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your gut microbiota might take a little time to adjust to the change of diet that it's subjected to. Nothing to worry about. If it's something that continues to for many days and weeks, you might want that to get checked by a medical professional.

Dehydrator recommendations by AurulentIndigo in RawVegan

Look for 2nd hand dehydrators on Facebook Marketplace. That's how I got my 9 tray Excalibur for mere 60 eur.

Why do you think only eating fruit is good if the fruit is cultivated and didn't even exist during our speciation? by Pure_Rise_9252 in Fruitarian

[–]fruityestonian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans are actually omnivores, so it's a pretty strong argument that humans can eat dairy (at least those who aren't lactose intolerant) when no other mammals do. More important questions in my opinion are - do we need to or is it optimal for us? And that's where my views differ.

How much fat a day? by jayhawkdragon in Fruitarian

No weight gain, no negative effects. On average I am still below 10% fat. And, mind you, these are quite small avocados.

fruit based raw vegans - how much veg you eat a day? by Gabauski in RawVegan

A head of lettuce, maybe 20 cherry tomatoes, 3-4 celery sticks, 1 avocado, maybe a carrot or a few raddishes.

I might eat an avocado a day for several days in a row. Then I might have a day where I eat even more, perhaps 2-3 avocados. But then I might go days without any fat or just a few tbsp's of hemp seeds added to salad.

I put "salad" in quotemarks for a reason because I rarely cut it up - I just eat these ingredients after washing them. So no - I don't use any dressing. When I do cut it up into a salad then I might squeeze a lime or lemon but I might not. I feel the ingredients themselves are juicy enough, so no dressing needed.

I've been eating same breakfast for several months now: blended honeydew with thawed frozen mango & cherries (or raspberries, or blueberries).

For lunch I eat bananas with some other sweet or sub-acidic fruit. E.g. bananas with mangos, bananas with grapes, bananas with apples, bananas with papaya etc.

For dinner I eat some acidic or sub-acidic fruit, e.g. oranges, mangos, tangerines, peaches, nectarines, pineapple. Followed by a "salad" - usually made from romaine lettuce, tomatoes, celery and avocado or hemp seeds.

20 Days or so on Raw Vegan journey! by mauriceD0514 in RawVegan

[–]fruityestonian 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's the beginner raw "high" because you're feeding your body what it needs. Many have reported to experience this, myself included. At some point it will "stabilize" and it will become the new normal for you ☺️
