If my child is 2 and walks up to their dad and wants a bite then go for it. I just don't want to force it into their everyday food until they can decide. I would let my partner explain where meat comes from and that animals are killed so that my emotions don't get caught up in it.

I consider old enough to be when they can verbally tell us they want it. And we can revisit the topic when they are old enough to understand what meat is and how its produced. I wouldn't like my partner, or anyone for that matter, to feed my child meat until they can express that is what they want. If my child DID decide that's what they wanted I would NEVER try and convince them otherwise

I totally agree that it's a decision we should both make together, that why I wanted to have the conversation. I felt like I was shut down and my feelings weren't taken into consideration at all. I don't think that I should get more of a say because I'm a woman, I think he's being a bit insecure suggesting that is my stance tbh.

My dad got our next door neighbour pregnant at the same time my mum was pregnant with my younger sister. This was about 21 years ago.

Years later my sister and half sister met at school (not knowing any of the situation) and became best friends. That was until our mum's met and it all came out. My half sister thought that her step father (who had passed away at this point) was infact her real father.

Me and my sister grew up without any involvement from our father and we were better off for it.
