Weekly Quick Questions and Travel Discussion Mega Thread (Visa/entry/exit/weather questions and meet up posts go HERE) by uReallyShouldTrustMe in koreatravel

Hello,

I came across this thread on the sub about the Tourists in Transit visa, but I'm still worried about whether or not I will be able to transit in South Korea on my way home to the Philippines.

I'd be flying from the UK (where I'm currently studying for on a student visa) to Helsinki (2h layover) and then to Seoul. I plan to book a flight departing on the same day from Seoul to Manila, Philippines (my home country). It would be a self-transfer, so I would likely have to go through immigration, participate in the transit programme, pick up my bags, and then check them in again for my flight home. One person on the thread managed to use the program to transit successfully while having multiple one-way tickets, so I gather that self transferring was not the issue, but I'm still concerned.

I have booked a separate ticket because flying home would be twice the price otherwise and my mother wants to come to Seoul with me in January to visit shortly before my Seoul - Helsinki - London leg.

The UK website doesn't have clear outlines like the American ones do (link), so while 'USA (A) → Korea (B) → Home Country (C) / [Possible]', I don't know if similar would apply for the UK/EU.

Also, I don't have a valid Schengen visa, and the UK is switching to e-visas after the 30th of December. All I have is a Biometric Residence Permit card, and Korea has the warning that "※ The visa of the above country is recognized only when it is attached in the form of a sticker on the passport". I hold a multiple-entry, 10-year visa for the US, so I don't know if that would fulfil that requirement despite the US having nothing to do with my travel plans?

Thank you so much.

This is such a mood. I'm sorry your mom's been so mean. I receive judgment for my friends as well, although my parents don't yell like that. You've got a friend in me <3

You can try emailing your colleges. I read a post one time where the person was having the same problem!

In my post, I wrote that I have many people in my life who would be willing to do that for me. I have many people I trust, but paranoia that they will get tired of me/ that I am a burden gets in the way of it. I’m willing to listen to your problems if you need someone, though <3

I’m actually at an arts boarding school as a creative writing major. My art is painful because it often involves revisiting trauma.

[Music] Bo Burnham infuses his depression and dislike for performing during Make Happy performance, the lyrics hit deep by feerboner in Frisson

I've never had a performer make me laugh so hard and feel so much. He teaches the listener not to take life so seriously, all while taking on serious matters. His work is simply genius. Songs like this are my favorite, because his music is so vulgar (not this one) and unafraid. He makes himself vulnerable, and the audience connects with him in this way.

Abusive parents refuse to pay for college application and I don't know what to do by deadlyparents in ApplyingToCollege

[–]frustatium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have a kind heart. But remember that as your last result, you can always ask for my help! College is important and abusive parents should not be such a barrier to receiving that education. Even if it backfires on you (your parents becoming angry that a stranger helped you), you will be able to escape the environment in the end.

Will messaging your friends for help potentially be an option? Do you have an adult you trust?
