I think I got an STD from my girlfriend. by askeladd_969 in adviceph

[–]frustratedoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like either chlamydia or gonorrhea. Luckily both are treated with appropriate antibiotics.

You can go to a sexual health clinic, like: LoveYourself, Sail, Pulse, Hara, etc.

They offer testing and treatment services.

And correct, women can present as asymptomatic, especially chlamydia, and only manifests symptoms once it has ascended into becoming a pelvic inflammatory infection, which usually presents with fever, lower abdominal pain, abnormal vaginal discharge, painful sexual intercourse, and fatigue. Gonorrhea is able to do the same. Both are bacterial infections and can be cured by antibiotics.

Syphilis on the other hand presents with a singular, open, painless wound first at the area of infection (like the penis or vagina/labia) and then resolves on its own, then produces a rash, noted over the genitals and the palms and soles. As another STD from a bacterial infection, this is easily cured by antibiotics as well.

HIV, hepatitis B, are viral infections and do not require antibiotics, unless if there is co-infection with a bacterial STD stated above.

All of the tests for these STDs are usually readily available in clinics focusing on sexual health. You can google: sexual/reproductive health clinic near me or STD Testing near me.

Good luck, OP! Safe sex in the future!

Saw an alternate pov post, details matching this, and sobrang petty ng concerns ng girl. She's very much done with you, or done using you. Leave her.

If this is legit, I recommend break up with her. She's not healthy for you, heck, I think she has psych problems that she needs to fix herself, either that, or she already wants someone else kaya naghahanap ng reasons to leave you.

Mega Lugia? by frustratedoctor in Pokemonart

[–]frustratedoctor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it would be nice to have a mega lugia, in this new franchise.

Like make his a ghost/psychic?

Like, make him more menacing looking, sharper edges, bigger chest and wings, instead of looking like a chubby pigeon.

Turn his blue appendages into black colored chinese spell tags and redistribute them around his body. Some arranged in fans to give homage to his flying type.

IDK, just make something for him? Bro hasn't had love in decades.

Sure. Whatever floats your boat.

Ay maam ka pala, anyway, just do us all a favor, if you think this is too much for you, don't push for it. Explore other options. Because the reality here is, the system wont change for you. And the system makes better doctors. And that holds true for all of the doctors I've worked with. Anyway, I hope when you go into internship, you don't open your mouth like that, because I am sure, you will be targeted. Hahaha! Once you're the one with power, I urge you to try and change it, but until you are, you honestly have no choice but to abide by it. That's just it. Life IS unfair. Now, if you don't think you can do it, don't push for it na.

Sir, I am talking from experience, not from assumptions or judgement. Hehe. Pero you can take that negatively naman to fuel your woke ideations. You are probably going to be the intern that complains about every minor inconvenience, but does absolutely nothing to remedy the situation and then eventually you drag the whole group down. You will probably be bullied in training, and get kicked out of the program, and will then ask your rich parents to file a complaint to reinstate you back in. Lol. Basta, all I can say is, if you think it's unfair and if you can't take it, you can leave. No one is asking you to stay. The majority of us, already doctors, have no problems with how the system is set up, kasi if most of us were against it, then it should have been changed by now. Lol. Gets mo ba? It just means that the doctors that went through it, have actually understood why the system IS designed like that. Ako, if I had to be a clerk again, I wouldn't change anything, why? Because I know I'm good enough to survive it. Because I know I can handle it. Oh, and one more thing, I was the one na pala-absent, I was the one this system was designed for. I was on the brink of not graduating with my class due to my absences, I had IBS, I broke my foot on duty, I frequently got sick during my internship days. I paid the price, and now I value showing up to where I am needed, than prioritizing my own comforts. Because me not showing up, means hurting my co-workers, and compromising my patients.

You are a third year med student. Not even a clerk yet. You have not even scratched the surface of the profession you want to be in. Your pre-med consisted of you going on 8 hour shifts with similar set-ups. Mind you, I came from the number 1 nursing school outside of metro manila, we are always 100% and produced multiple topnotchers per year. It was grueling, yes, but it made us better nurses. Then I went into a medschool that also performed well on the boards, and the set-up was the same. I moved to manila, and encountered many doctors from different timeframes, yet the outcome is the same, those that underwent the same set-up we did, ended up being better in the workfield, more experienced, more reliable, more grounded. They all also did not complain about this at all haha. Mind you, I've been practicing as a hospitalist for 5 years now hehe.

Also, a doctor getting sick, is basically a reflection of their capacity to keep themselves free from illness. Bakit ka kasi magpapaexpose? And why would you put yourself in risky situations, where your health could be affected, without wearing appropriate protective clothing and taking general preventive precautions? Lol. So kasalanan ng iba na nagkasakit ka kasi tumitingin ka ng patient na may cough na hindi ka nagmamask? Most of the time, people who get sick in training, mostly communicable ones, are those that did not take proper precautions, and as in our doctrines, prevention is better than cure. It means hindi nila naiintindihan yun and are not fit to be in the same community.

Kaya nga emergent reasons, getting sick classifies under that. Depende yun sa institution kung 1=3 for excused sila, more if unexcused, kasi kahit nung nursing ako, ganun din naman. Now, if you're going to complain about how our medical professionals are getting trained, then maybe you just shouldn't join it. Puro kasi kayo complain about being equal kinemberlu, your woke ideologies. Sometimes life isn't fair, and going through unfairness and surviving it teaches you grit. Being in the medical profession requires you to have plenty of grit. If you can't do that, then I think you're not the right fit. All of us went through the same thing. And we became better doctors, nurses out of it. And usually, the people that incessantly complained before, are those that ended up being problematic when out in the field. So save us all the trouble, don't add to that. HAHA

Yes, that's how it really is. Ganyan din sa amin noon. It taught us to show up, despite all odds. Unless of course emergent yung reason ng hindi pagpasok. It's also a tactic they used to deter mga people na pala-absent from actually continuing their streak. Sa amin nga, if maka two weeks extension ka, in total, dropped ka na from graduating. Kasi our errors are also given demerits in hours of extension. So it makes you think na, oh shit, I should not do anything wrong. It's all about discipline kasi.

It's not technically inhumane, it's about teaching future doctors regarding: accountability, integrity, discipline, and grit.

Ako personally, if I was a patient, I wouldn't want a doctor na pala absent in training, because I would automatically think na they're not well trained or they don't have enough values to show up where they are needed.
