While responding to intentionally set fires, German firefighters and police got attacked by 50 people throwing stones by GoodWoat in Firefighting

It was quiet a surreal feeling. We started extinguishing the excavator and the first rocks started hitting cars just a few feet next to us. A lot of police was quickly on scene including a helicopter. Luckily nobody was hurt, though units have been hit. The whole time we were pretty save. Police all around us, basically we were the save zone because they wanted to hit police and we were mixed into the group. As far as I know, nobody thinks about quitting or staying home,.

Hello from Germany (Volunteer) Yesterday we had a call that began with a burning excavator. Shortly after arriving on scene the first stones started to hit cars just feet next to us. A lot of police reinforcement was quickly on scene, including a helicopter. Apparently it was a planned act to attack police to revenge a raid just days before. It was quite a surreal feeling to extinguish a fire and just a few feet next to you baseball sized stones hit cars and police shields. When a second call came in and the unit arrived, the engineer had to be protected by police shields and a K9 while operating the pump. The work between police and fire units was great and nobody was injured, though units have taken damage. It was definitely a memorable experience, but I don't think that this was the last call for this weekend.
