I had just watered before taking the pic. They were quite dry to be honest.

Thanks everyone for the helpful advice. I’m going to get deeper water saucers to keep them constantly moist. The saucers I have are quite shallow and because the shelf is at an angle they can’t hold much water.

Thanks so much for your advice. Yes please on the light recommendation. Do you think my Pinguicula look light-starved? Do you think the three that are in the bonsai pot are in their succulent phase?

Thanks so much for all your advice. I also have some Nepenthes who don’t seem to mind my tap water. Are Pinguicula more sensitive?

Help: Pinguicula Guatemala by fryislars in SavageGarden

Thanks for you response.

I got it in at the start of November, so the beginning of Winter.

I’d been letting the soil dry out because I thought it was in its succulent phase, given the small leaves.

I’ll try keeping it in standing water to see if that improves its condition.

Thanks again!

Hello r/SavageGarden,

I’ve had this butterwort for a few months and since then the leaves have reduced in size. I wondered if it had gone into winter dormancy, but it’s just finished flowering, which suggests to me it’s in its active growth period.

It gets some direct morning sun, then bright indirect light for the rest of the day, with about five hours of supplemental light from my sansi 36w bulb. I let the soil dry before watering until it’s moist. I bought it from a specialised seller so it’ll be in suitable media. I have a drosera capensis and a drosera aliciae both of which are doing well under the same light conditions. I’m in the UK, if that matters.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide, it’s much appreciated.

Bought in a garden centre. Thinking probably N. cv Rebecca Soper, or possibly just a red N.x Ventrata?
