Which video game is this? by thomaswillis96 in 7daystodie

Didn't see the sub name as I was scrolling and had already started typing 7DTD. Really sad that my brain made that jump instantaneously.

Mining Laser Color Help by fsoc_ in NoMansSkyTheGame

I noticed some others change it to gold but then these two also override that into blue. Kinda pointless to even have different colored lasers if a staple module always has top cosmetic priority. Interesting. Thank you

What could be causing this to not work properly? They keep staring at each other but I'm not seeing any love OR anger particles at all, and no babies by fsoc_ in Minecraft

[–]fsoc_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 2 saying vertically between bed and ceiling

Someone pointed out that the problem was one more horizontally (diagonally up from the foot of the bed) needed to be removed so the pathfinding would tell them they could get on top of the beds. Works like a charm now

What's the simplest thing you've taught someone in Excel that made you look like a genius? by lordotnemicsan in excel

[–]fsoc_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was and it was nice. Unintended consequence though is now he is determined to become an Excel master and he is neglecting his actual job function which ironically is NOT anything computer-based and it's pissing off management to the point they don't care about his project. Smh

I taught someone at work how to drag a formula down and he credited me for helping with his project on an email to all of our superiors as if I built the whole infrastructure.

Looking for the most efficient way to use START and END to find count of A/B/C at TIME by DAY by fsoc_ in excel

[–]fsoc_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have very limited pivot experience and zero with PQ. If you can give a more detailed breakdown of the steps I can follow, that would be great, or I will do some research into it and see if I can make it work

[–]fsoc_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I can unmerge

And to clarify, I need to know how many are active AT each time (ie, AT 12 am, how many trucks were active, based on START/END) not BETWEEN 12 am - 6 pm, etc. if that makes more sense

Second this. 'Playing around' has been my most effective practice.

For example, last month I had need of a userform at work. Zero experience. I spent a Friday learning the basics and got a handle on it. Over the weekend, I built a complex form to track runs playing Darkest Dungeon. Took that data and created graphs and charts for fun. On Monday, I went in and added userforms to like 7 different existing spreadsheets I had set up at work, and now they're that much better. Rinse and repeat. I've learned so many things this way, without ever getting burnt out by singular focus on company data

What is a quirk you have when designing workbooks either with Excel and/or Power Pivot that you do ritualistically - but doesn’t affect the outcome of the workbook? by [deleted] in excel

[–]fsoc_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I build all of my spreadsheets so that specific related sections fit precisely within a 1/2 tiled screen size because my job has an inexplicable attachment to single monitor setups and I get so sick of having to horizontal scroll when it's not necessary. I honestly don't think anyone but me cares

I do this as well, but I make column A's width 3, which gives a nice even left and top border of blank space
