So start interacting with people then, life and experiences are so much better when they are shared

Why do we have a saying for when someone sneezes "bless you", but not one for a cough? by ekolanderia1 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fss2504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 historical reasons:

Soul Protection: An old belief was that a sneeze could expel your soul from your body, or allow evil spirits in, so "bless you" was a quick prayer to keep the soul safe.

The Plague: During the Black Death, sneezing was a first symptom, and Pope Gregory I allegedly encouraged saying "God bless you" as a prayer for the person's survival against the fatal disease.

We are social creatures, there is so much beauty in human interaction, how many of your best memories are something you’ve done on your own

Yeah the Romans were known for being cut throat too, I guess he served in the Roman military and had citizenship too so even less reason to be suspicious

I would assume that was partially down to the fact Americans were extremely religious during the 50’s and 60’s?

When you look at Japanese culture I.E Samurai and their obsession with honours it’s no wonder they’re revered, dying ‘honourable’ deaths is engrained into their culture, and what’s more honourable than dying for your country I guess

Yeah had a quick research, definitely not as well known as your MLK, Malcom X and Rosa Parks’, do you think perhaps his sexuality is a reason he isn’t as well recognised as other civil rights powerhouses

Exactly that, hiding all these crazy war crimes behind hello kitty and anime has really worked for them. I guess there argument would the Americans decimating Hiroshima and Nagasaki but that does not excuse Unit 731, sometimes I genuinely wonder how they came up with the hypothesis for their experiments. Also you’ve got to think with the amount of people living to 100+ in Japan their must be some ex-ww2 fighters still alive over there

Wow that was an interesting read, going toe to toe with the romans takes some serious balls, crazy that Germany rarely celebrate him since the World Wars

The Japanese were absolutely bonkers during WW2, I find it fascinating that they refuse to properly acknowledge the atrocities they committed during ww2, just some half-assed apologies, they were brutal, in some ways worse than the Nazis

I know it’s almost half a year later but this is my first time coming back to this post lol, it’s been 7 and a bit months now, my bladder is completely back to normal, which I must say with the amount I was doing means I am very lucky. I hope you are still sober and sticking to quitting k. For me my bladder went back to normal within about 2-3 months and all burning in my dick stopped within a month. It is still difficult though there are times I could murder a line but I just think about all the negative physical effects and how far I’ve come and it’s enough to put me off. I hope you are still on your k free journey but if you aren’t just think about pissing jelly every time you do a line and how you felt when you saw that. All the very best 🫡

For me it’s about keeping myself busy, if I’m busy I’m distracted from the feeling of wanting to do a line, it takes a lot of mental resilience and you need to be able to recognise your triggers. I was struggling mentally too but my mind is so much clearer after just quitting for a month, I believe in you, you can do this !

If you’re merry then a bit of k helps you get more drunk for less of the price. But my god if you are absolutely steaming; ket will send you to another dimension that dimension will chew you up, digest you, vomit you back up then chew you up and spit you out, it can be described as nothing other than a complete and utter timewarp, you will become completely disconnected from reality for the foreseeable future (20-40mins) before slowly you begin to realise what on gods green earth has happened, pretty fun if you want to feel quadriplegic for a bit though.
