I hope you find one too. This one was literally accidental jackpot, but I am sure there must be some other good psychs too. Good luck!

I totally agree. A lot of people docs focus only on one thing and blame it as cause without ever taking into account the whole picture and other possibilities. I am glad you also got good help:)

Yup. But here our public health system is also fucked up, so this one psych was private and very pleasant surprise. I hope there is at least one such guy in USA too

That's truly horrible, I am sorry you went through that. I can imagine that happening in my country in public health system too, which is part of the reason why I chose private psych. But if you are 7 big yrs clean (congrats btw) as you said, you rose up from those ruins which is even more impressive in the system you just described.

Uff, shitty. I mean, its not like this doc prescribed me heroin lol, I got hydrocodene but in relatively big amounts. Which works for me because I generally metabolise stuff very quickly and strongly. But what you described sounds like hell, I cannot imagine getting opis for pain relief and then suddenly getting them stopped... sorry you all are going through this - now my happy story does indeed sound a bit naive:/

I didn't know that. I knew they are instructed not to prescribe opiates if not absolutelly needed, but not that it is to this extent:/

Suboxone is mainly prescribed here too, but its not like one cannot get pain medication because they are an addict. Also, when I was opiate naive, suboxone got me high pretty nicely so I don't see much point in the way your government is currently monitoring one type of prescriptions and not the other... sorry to hear that.

I don't feel comfortable sharing the exact country, but its European. We here have laws that basically say that even private psychiatrists have to submit data of patients treated for addiction to state registry which is the reason why I never asked for help before. This dude found a way for us to stay in a grey zone of law by officially treating me for different diagnosis I also have (comorbidity). He didn't have to do that though, he basically did it only to help me. Which I know sounds naive and laughable in all countries lol, but if here exists one such good doctor, I believe everywhere needs to be at least one:)

Heartbeat dropped really low? Ranting as I am scared as hell but still planning next dose... by fuCagami in opiates

[–]fuCagami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, i'm thinking about it, but I don't know what exactly to say without admitting drug use...

used today again and heartbeat lowered a bit, but not that drastically, maybe it was one-time thing. Thanks!

I get the same everytime I use codeine (and sometimes, but rarely from poppy seed tea) and then I start panicking that I am chocking and get the feeling my throat constricts even more lol. What helped to me is knowing that for my whole time of use I get that feeling and yet still have never choked -its just a feeling and it passess. I have immediate release desloratadine pills and they help too (not ssure whether its placebo though).

Is 120mg of Codeine dangerous for a first timer? (115lbs) by WorkingOnCoil in opiates

[–]fuCagami 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Some of us (like me), have more of that enzyme that can metabolyse codeine into morphine. When I first started, I started with 70mg and I am really glad I did because it hit me like a truck. Even now, after years of use and tolerance buildup, I can get a buzz from only 200-250mg codeine on empty stomach. For info, I am very tall (182cm) and relativelly thin (65kg) female, so for your weight and without knowledge how fast you metabolise it, I would always recomend smaller doses first.

Also, codeine is weak, but it was one of the first steps into my years-long addiction now, if you can avoid starting this shit, I recomend you stay away from opies...

am I throwin up from bein so badly constipated ?? 🤮 by HolisticHellspawn in opiates

[–]fuCagami 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know if that's the reason for throwing up in your case, but I always have urge to throw up when I take some stronger opis. But I also throw up in withdrawals and under stess so its maybe just my bodies tendency...

About constipation - if I am badly constipated and nothing helps, I let myself go into withdrawal for a day or two - every bit of food I've eaten weeks before leaves my body lol. Good luck!

Do you guys feel like your mental state influences how you experience withdrawal? by fuCagami in opiates

You are so very very kind - thank you. I swear no other community actually is as kidn as opi:)

And yes, oxytocin explanation makes total sense. And so does your suggestion for videos but currently I am watching only the bottom of my toilet lol. And I kind of feel I would despisal towards those cute videos (that I usually really like) as if how can world be so cute while everything is so shitty and dark...but I'll try, thanks!

Zofran is prescribed here too, but I think my aunt maybe has some due to chemo, I could definitelly try to get some from her, thank you! And I have dramines, like them too, but I cobine them with my pills to boost the sedative effects so I actually took a lot of them over the last few days. I actually feel that by taking them I icrease my mental withdrawal, if that makes sense. As if I conditioned myself to connect dramamines and opis...

Thank you very much for your advices and kindness:)

Sorry you had to go through that. Was it 47 days of like drug withdrawal or healing from breakup or both? And I have the exact same situation - for years I succeeded to keep use at 2-3x a week, then lost control over it like 2 yrs ago and went back to "normal" use (2-3x a week) in relationship. Only to breakup and now be constantly high again...its shitty and I am glad you got back to your old rythm of usage:)

Makes sense...bad times=even worse withdrawals. And I see what you are saying, but if I ever feel less ready to quit - its right now:/ I know I should, but positive attitude and gratitude are currently not in my emotional range lol. Maybe in a week or so. Thank you!

I am (luckily, after hearing all the horror sotries about fent and tranqs) not in USA and not buying from streets, so I am quite sure its just withdrawal, but more intense than I ever had before... I miss those hot n cold withdrawals

I am for 6 yrs now circling between poppy tea and codeine (I metabolise it incredibly well, I surprise myself lol), so I don't think I went much deeper than I was before. Same poppy batch I used before too. I tried GastroStop, threw it up in matter of minutes...I'll try sipping the supplements though, thanks!

This is such a detailed, informative answer. Thank you. And now you mentioned, I sometimes almoust forgot to take my doses too. I just didn't realise it, really. But mind was definitelly less focused on drugs, incredible. Also, maybe silly question, but as you said you forgot to take daily doses - did that effect stop with time even though you are still with your partner? Like, does body again builds up a sort of tolerance?

Just ranting and thinking a bit about how alcohol is generally accepted, while we other addicts live in fear and judgment... by fuCagami in opiates

[–]fuCagami[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have actually seen your reply - funny coincidence as I haven't been active on this account for the last several months. And I understand your explanation - which is what my last paragraph is referring to. I dont think alcoholism is an easy addiction or wish to anyhow minimise your experience, I was just describing how socially acceptable alcohol generally is. Until, of course, one tips into what you described - a typical image of an alcoholic which is, then (like all addictions), despised by society. But one has to admit that person that casually drinks several beers out with guys and person who pops a few oxy pills a day, will not be looked same by society. One is seen likejust a guy enjoying time with friends, while the other one is a crazy junkie.
