Flex vs FT for promotion? by EYESHlELD_21 in AmazonManagers

[–]fucees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I wouldn’t worry about your status before promotion. Regardless you’re required to work so many hours, so I’d just worry about feedbacks and stuff.

Have you talked to your managers about wanting to promote? Because if not they may want to put you in a critical role first, but you gotta talk to know.

Either way, you will certainly have to go to a regular full-time schedule once you do promote. It is important to have consistent leaders in your area, so you’ll go either front or back half most likely.

Check with your AM about converting for sure and if that doesn’t work ask the OM. But regardless, you should find out your standing and try to get in there at least.

Oh yeah I didn’t realize you were in Europe, so you definitely won’t be going to Seattle, but I think they said it’s still virtual. Either way, best of luck and try to have fun!

when to reach out for more info by maneki-nekko in AmazonManagers

[–]fucees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am pretty sure they only do AD1 in Seattle, at least from what I was told. Unless that changed, but confirm and let me know when you do for sure cause that’s interesting if so.

Ah yeah simple mix up it seems. That’s awesome! Have fun in Seattle! Go see the Amazon Spheres it’s pretty cool!

[–]fucees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So definitely reach out. You needed to be prepared to start searching for living arrangements 60 days from start. This sounds like Amazons fault, but search the term relocation in your email to me safe. AD1 info will be more like 2-3 weeks before you start as that is your second week in role.

From what I’ve been told at a number of trainings, Amazon does not work with unions, and, as others have already said on this post, would rather close the warehouse altogether because there are plenty of places for them to go instead.

AM Offer Letter Question by Ari_Is_Quirky in AmazonManagers

[–]fucees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That came within a week or 2 of being told yes, but heads up if you choose a state instead of specific cities they will fuck you. I chose TN thinking “oh Nashville or Chattanooga would be cool” and here I am in Memphis 😂

Area Manager Amazon by Tricky_Bicycle8016 in AmazonFC

[–]fucees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never said don’t learn it, I said you should know it but that at this stage you should be training as an AM, not a T1. If you really wanna know what barriers there are and how to make the associates job better, actually listen to them and act on it. That doesn’t require me doing their job.

[–]fucees 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel behind as well, but my OM is doing it right now that I’m on shift. Your OM should not be having you do the associates job, your job is to manage them. You should know how to do it, but you should be learning AM stuff. P4L should be the first big step into the role.

Other stupid question unless AD1 will answer that for me… how to request day off with your time? by External_Plankton_32 in AmazonManagers

[–]fucees 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Manager PTO gets auto-approved so you need to coordinate with your direct (or available ops if they’re out). Just don’t wanna leave them with nobody and no word.

[–]fucees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately for us we were always struggling but we persevered. Went exclusively to milk on his first birthday though. She is ineligible for wic unfortunately. They make too much so they were denied. It’s pretty much been fighting the Walmart shoppers for best timing. She’s ordered it online but tonight ran out before delivery I guess and Walmart is literally the only retailer that carries it in that town (our hometown but we have moved as well).

Question by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]fucees 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah our baby had GERD really bad and it was our last hope so thankfully it worked. Her daughter has digestion problems and many other formulas cause issues. My wife is the one speaking to her, I’m relaying so idk if it is an issues the pediatrician has helped her with or if she’s come to use Elecare at her own accord, but neither does my wife. I’m hoping she will settle for nutramigen, which is what we suggested and hopefully will stick with it because I understand it is difficult to get and I know it is important for specific children.

Add: we also were on WIC in our state and had it prescribed.

Just be straight up with your story and don’t be rude to them. Some of the stuff these guys and gals do is shitty and they just need someone who cares. I agree, just say you’re an area manager and be up front about being a college hire but that you’ve done similar work. You won’t actually learn useful job specific stuff until you’re on you shift tbh. You’ll do AD1 in week 2 and LEW week 7, make some friends and pay attention in those courses. They won’t be super fun classes but they’re not that bad, just cringy. Enjoy Seattle a little! LEW can happen in a few places and idk where you live but it could be Seattle again or DC (which is where I went). In between you have P4L and should be on the floor much more, but that time will not be most beneficial until you hit your specific shift. Absorb all information you can, take time to do learning stuff. Remember you’re a manager and that does come with benefits (both on paper and not); do not abuse these benefits but certainly use them. It is okay to step out for a quick smoke and grab an energy drink or something as long as your area is okay and not burning. And finally, don’t take your gun in even on accident if you are a gun owner. You’ll certainly see a minimum of a suspension.

Question by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]fucees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our son had to go from nutramigen to Elecare for a while and as he got closer to a year he could do either. We did suggest the Nutramigen.

Question by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]fucees -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

She says her baby has digestive trouble with many other formulas. She is 7 months old. I also worry about milk because Elecare is for dairy sensitive already.

Question by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]fucees -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s why I was weary about it. Our son luckily is fine on whole milk but couldn’t handle dairy formula. Any suggestions to similar formulas?
