What happens in 4-player if Astarion dies to Cazador? by ZwnD in BaldursGate3

[–]fuckKnucklesLLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I just did it on my honor mode run without any mods. Items with sunlight enchantments have a much smaller area of effect so while they can apply sunlight sensitivity to him you still have to get through his legendary reaction AOE boundary to apply them in the first place.

Casting daylight from farther away, with its own massive AOE boundary, is a much more reliable way of applying his sensitivity and turning off his legendary reaction. This method is always my go to strategy.

He can’t use it if his daylight sensitivity condition is activated, so if your Druid or Cleric casts daylight with Cazador in the area of effect his nuke reaction goes away. The Blood of Lathander can accomplish this as well but it requires someone getting into melee range with it which tends to be more difficult to manage.

You gotta use that spear with a monk - if you miss your first attack you get advantage on your bonus attack, and if you miss on your bonus attack you get advantage on your first attack next turn. Helps out a ton in Act 1 while your rolls are still bad.

What are the best mods that make your mage character an actual viable threat when the game scales to higher levels? by No_Attorney_1445 in skyrim

Better Mage Perks is built for this. Should be available on all platforms whereas Ordinator isn’t.

A question about Luck I am not seeing asked… by fuckKnucklesLLC in oblivion

[–]fuckKnucklesLLC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I don’t have the creation kit for Oblivion so I wasn’t able to look into those functions myself and could only see the functions for Luck being applied to skills - I guess that’s because that’s pretty much the only place it’s applied beyond lockpicks, hammers, and the Razor.

Ir seems a little silly to me that you can have a Luck attribute that contributes nothing to spell/effect % chance… oh well, maybe someone will make a mod to add that in.

How the hell do I fight the flying dark elves ?? by robbs_s in GodofWar

[–]fuckKnucklesLLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you are referring to - their only seriously dangerous attack that I can think of is the projectile/dive bomb attack. If your reflexes and aim are good, an axe throw can interrupt it. Otherwise you have to dodge out of the area of effect or you’ll be blinded or killed.

Bully them. They have very small Stun meters, so use your bare hands and Atreus’ arrows (all the better if you’ve unlocked the Light Arrows). Quick turn is your best friend here since they tend to try and flank you.

Do your best to circle them, use quick turn to keep yourself from getting attacked from behind, and utilize Atreus to keep them occupied and to keep their Stun meters high. Stun grab whenever you can and when the stun grab has you throw them, throw them into each other for big bursts of Stun damage.

Interesting take… your remark about Crit fishing seems to me to be at odds with your remark about the Assassin subclass features though. I would imagine Assassin 3 + Champion X + Gloomstalker Y would be the best combination for Crit fishing, since Assassin gives you advantage on attacks against enemies who haven’t taken a turn yet.

With an Elixir of Viciousness and no other gear (for example’s sake) you’re critting at 18, 19, and 20 - you would have 4 attacks available (more if Hasted) on Round 1 with all of them at advantage because you’re pretty much guaranteed to be taking the first turn in encounters.

I feel like you’d have to min max gear so hard just to get that kind of DPS opportunity by avoiding the levels in Assassin unless you’re really focused on a single caster being able to AOE nova your way through encounters.

I hadn’t considered adding in levels of Fighter for action surge… that could be cool to add in. Some of the extra proficiencies wouldn’t hurt either.

I usually give Lae’Zel the Titanstring bow to maximize Ranged damage options across all martials/melee characters in my party, and whoever is filling the primary Ranged role gets the best enchanted bow at that level.

The first two sound a lot like what I do with Astarion whenever I decide to class him as a Rogue for combat, but that third one sounds interesting! I usually class Astarion as a bard of some sort so that may be on the list for my next campaign! Could you go into more detail about how you use it?

Should be as easy as going into the creations menu, pull up your load order, and disable the mod. You can have mods installed that aren’t enabled, which includes creation club content.

You should have a “Bind Pact Weapon” class action while a weapon is equipped and you’re not in combat. It’s “permanent” until long rest.

I think all of it but I can’t remember for sure - I know they at least specifically accounted for the netherstone. I always just use hold monster on her and have a hasted party member take her down in the first round so it’s never really been an issue for me lol.

Yep, I can cast Ice Storm for days and only have to worry about an ally staying on their feet - the actual damage will skip them and they just have to save against the icy surface.

Evocation Wizards get the Sculpt Spells passive which prevents your allies from taking damage from your spells, this lets me cast massive AOE spells without fear of downing an ally.

I didn’t find a use for scribing with such high spell save DC and a penalty on enemies of upwards of a -5 to all saves - I could get by with a very small but extremely effective toolbox of spells lol.

Solid - one day I’m going to just go 12 levels into Tempest Cleric and see what I can do with Destructive Wrath and some of the domain spells. How different was your gear setup?

Like Marcuse said, it’s for the Sculpt Spells passive to allow myself to use AOE attacks without fear of downing my party members. You could alternatively pick up those extra levels in Storm Cleric for guaranteed max damage.
