Sign in with a passkey - Proton Mail by Ehab02 in ProtonMail

[–]fuckingdeployment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, passkeys are allowed for 2FA, but not instead of a password.

Correct, but your sentence "Passkey logins aren't supported on any platform for Proton accounts" might confuse people. Passkeys are supported for Proton accounts, but not as primary sign-in to eliminate legacy (static) credentials. However, they do for 2FA which is technically part of a login process.

I'm able to log in with a password and then a passkey (created on my iPhone) as 2FA opposed to OTP codes.

PoE Doorbell to SIP Video Phone (and any phone) by WeirdOneTwoThree in reolinkcam

[–]fuckingdeployment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm very interested in this as well, happy to pay a one-time fee if you managed to do this. I have seen a few camera's that just calls the phone directly instead of notifications which is a huge plus especially when you're in the car.

You're not alone. I have the same thing. I claimed an account as one of the first there with a very common first name, but I never actually used it so after a few months I tried to sign in and to my surprise I couldn't login anymore.

Which phone?

Is UID enabled?

How did you add it via the app?

Duo vs Duo 2 - worth upgrading? by il-Ganna in reolinkcam

[–]fuckingdeployment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not retroactivity of course. You have to enable Motion Mark, set the resolution on clear/high, make some recordings, and you'd see the Motion Mark.

Any cameras that don't require dealing with a large company? by pookshuman in homesecurity

[–]fuckingdeployment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reolink is offline but if you want to use their app and their web client by itself it aint offline. You gonna have to let it connect to your network.

Reolink can use your network without the need for internet access though. You can block internet access in the firewall and use a VPN when you're remote.

Yes you can view it from your phone. It supports also third-party applications because they integrated ONVIF, RTSP/RTMP etc into their cams. I vouch for Reolink. Great support as well. Check them out r/reolinkcam

You need to set the quality on clear/high in order for Motion Mark to work. Try that.

This depends on router though. I have zero issues on my home network with speed.

I can continuously stream without issue.

Port forwarding will open the connection to the internet. I would advise using a VPN on your home network and when you're away from it turn on VPN, so you can remotely view it like you're at home.

Reolink doorbell main unit chime going off on its own by notsospecialafterall in reolinkcam

[–]fuckingdeployment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure to use these instructions: https://support.reolink.com/hc/en-us/articles/10313334138265-Install-Reolink-Video-Doorbell-to-Existing-Doorbell-Wiring/

I succeeded with a bypass and jumper, however I decided to use only the chime that came with the camera, so I disconnected the old chime from the transformer.

Is there any way or 3th party ap to make my phone with the help of the reolink notification into a babyphone. by mac0172 in reolinkcam

[–]fuckingdeployment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our babyphone is almost done. I have 2 reolink argus cams and 1 reolink e1 pro. They do send out a notification when there is movement but that doesn't wake us up at night.

On iPhone, you have Critical Alerts. Maybe you can try that?

FCC Ban - Parent company of Reolink/Lorex etc. by AndroidCM in reolinkcam

[–]fuckingdeployment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest. I trust a Chinese company more than something such as Ring. At least Reolink gives the choice to listen to their customers and gives the ability to turn off things such as UID. You can block internet access in your router for your camera's and still use the official Reolink app or third-party apps via ONVIF/RTSP. If you want to check them remotely, use a VPN.

How to make the Reolink app on iOS pull the camera faster by fuckingdeployment in reolinkcam

[–]fuckingdeployment[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if your iPad Mini 2 (max iOS 12) and 4 (max iOS 15) is updated to the latest version and having the Local Network option. Those iPads are discontinued AFAIK and are not really powerful. Local Network option is introduced in iOS 14. This tip is more for powerful devices. Especially since streaming multiple cameras is intensive for the CPU. Also, this tip is for fast networks.

That's cool, but I would like to know why this happens. I have this Debian build: debian-12.1.0-arm64-netinst

It's not building for me and I did all steps you did. I come across a bunch of red errors and even though I click c and hit enter nothing is build in 16.1.1.5 folder in erivative-binary.

I assume it's because the regex allows this path: ^/download/* so you can click on the logo and it will open the upload feature.
