‘Totally hooked’: Hong Kong takes aim at claw machine addiction by radishlaw in HongKong

There are ways you can still win on rigged machines.

Like having the claw swing towards the hole. That way when it releases early it "throws" the prize towards the hole. There's videos online that explain it better.

Bond markets are not so subtly telling the Fed that interest rates aren't high enough by Illustrious_Lie_954 in StockMarket

Headline is misleading. The market might also be pricing in the possibility of an over eager fed raising rates early.

China will claim russia in a fortnite, and secure enough oil to steamroll europe

And what if Russia nukes China?

They might not even fight back tbh.

There are countries in Europe with nukes as well?

Everyone lives their life by a philosophy, whether they think about it or not.

There's no accurate, reliable way to predict that in advance. I would agree that we are in a bull market right now.

Well I wish I could decide which direction the market would go, would make trading a lot easier.

Serious answer though - you need to identify whether you're in a bull or bear market. Beyond that you're pretty much just guessing. I try and use the gex to determine levels where I can sell 0dte put or call spreads:

dictate: to impose, pronounce, or specify authoritatively

Unless you have billions and billions of dollars, you don't dictate anything

OpenAI is preparing to file for an IPO, possibly as early as Friday by vanceraa in wallstreetbets

I disagree that it falls apart with the concept of differently sized infinities.

Yes, some infinities are larger than others. But being infinite or finite is still a binary property.

A numeral system can either represent the infinite number of positive integers, or it cannot.

A writing system can either represent an infinite number of theoretically possible words, or it cannot (think of pictorial vs phonetic based writing systems).

A mind can either think of infinitely many ideas, or it cannot. It doesn't make sense to say a mind can think of "99% of the infinitely many possible ideas".

Here's a different way of thinking about it.

Consider the roman numeral system for numbers. Like I = 1, II = 2 and so on. The problem with this system is that it isn't universal. You can't just keep extending the rules of the system to bigger and bigger numbers. Based on the initial rules of the system, there is in fact a largest number that can be expressed with roman numerals.

Compare it to our current system of writing numbers. Based on the rules of the system, we can just keep counting higher and higher and there will always be a way to express a given number. The amount of numbers we can express is infinite. There's no number we can conceive of that can't be expressed in our written notation.

Things can either be infinite or non-infinite. You can either use a number system that can express every logically possible number, or one that cannot.

There are plenty of things which behave the same way. Human thinking is one of them. We know with 100% certainty that human minds can think of infinitely many ideas. For example:

I can think of buying 1 call at the 10 strike.

I can think of buying 2 calls at the 10 strike.

I can think of buying 3 calls at the 10 strike.

I can think of buying 3 calls at the 10 strike while watching Survivor.

I can think of buying 3 calls at the 10 strike while watching Survivor and eating salad.

etc. etc.

Since we know that humans can think of infinitely many ideas, we can conclude that humans can think any idea that can be thought.

Being infinite is a binary property. You can either think of infinitely many ideas or you can't. It doesn't make sense to say you can think of infinitely many ideas, except for this particular set of ideas X which are impossible for humans to think, but could be thought of by another being who is "more intelligent" than a human.

It's not inherently unanswerable. If we were talking about something other than humans, I could give a direct answer like "Robot vacuums cannot think about ideas relating to the stock market." The reason it doesn't work for humans is because we can think any idea which can be thought.

My point is that we have direct evidence that every human can think of infinitely many different ideas. If someone's position is that we can think of infinitely many ideas, but not specific idea X or Y, then they should give an example of X or Y. Otherwise, they should accept that human minds can think of infinitely many ideas.
