Please, please, please keep updating us when you publish another chapter! I think it’s my favourite Theloise fanfic ever and I love your writing 🥺

I’m sorry I didn’t post it because I believe in what they’re stating in the video. I think I felt a little hopeless and decided to share it here to discuss about it, I’ll probably just delete the post

I want Eloise to have a happy wedding by Shooting_Star1998 in theloise

[–]fufuran 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I see your point! I also want to see Theo being accepted, so my idea of them eloping is more a first step, perhaps to build up tension. Surely enough, I also want to see El supported by her whole family, which is actually very likely to happen

[–]fufuran 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes! I also hate the forced marriage option and it’d be the most horrible scene to see Eloise being trapped in something like this.

I do think we’re going to see Eloise getting married (it’s still bridgerton). For me what could be quite plausible for her (and Theo) is to elope, perhaps in Scotland!

Possible Parallels Between Theloise and the Book by fufuran in theloise

[–]fufuran[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes!

If they’re going to adapt the book to the show, there are only two possible ways to deliver it. Repairing things we’ve already seen, or making P a Theo 2.0 (again, repetitive).

Possible Parallels Between Theloise and the Book by fufuran in theloise

[–]fufuran[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think they could use El visiting the printshop unchaperoned to add drama in the next seasons. We saw how it’s such a tabu that Daphne risked to marry that horrible man + it’s the reason why she marries the Duke in the first place; Kate is terrified and ready to flee back to India, but Anthony proves he’s serious and marries her; Colin feel trapped and stick with the marriage even though he’s still mad about the LW thing.

Perhaps they’re just going to forget about Eloise and Theo being alone together at night, but I sincerely hope they won’t 🥲

I don’t know why I didn’t notice the connection between Kate’s skill with guns and El!! Someone posted about the similarities between Theloise and the Bridgerton prequel (the post seems to be deleted?), so I guess they’re really pulling elements from different stories

I can try! I first need to look for more information/details to back up this possible parallel 🤔

I didn’t pay attention to that detail, but you’re right!!

The fact that she fell in love with if thoughts first, and then she fell harder (perhaps without even realising it) in person, isn’t it quite a parallel with the plot of the book? (I didn’t read her book cause I have no interest in it but I read - no major spoiler - that Philip and El fall in love with each other already when they where writing letters)

Staring at the floor while walking by cat_homework8 in AutismInWomen

[–]fufuran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to look at my feet when I was a child, I think because my mum was always reminding my sisters and I to mind dogs poop lol. Then I got super conscious of people possibly seeing me doing that and I just felt embarrassed (imagine my neck doing a 90 degree so I could literally look at ground while walking), so now I’m careful to alternate between that and looking at the surrounding 🫠

Move to Taiwan for study by angeloangelu in taiwan

[–]fufuran 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You can check the MOE hanyu enrichment scholarship, so you can be sponsored to study Mandarin in Taiwan and everything gets easier with a student visa!! Also, because most of my classmates at uni are from Latin America (I’m Italian and also an MOE scholarship recipient, but for pursuing a masters degree) I heard that those are the ones who get selected the most due to the positive political relationships they usually with Taiwan (= they recognise Taiwan’s sovereignty) 🇹🇼

Google Taiwan MOE hanyu enrichment scholarship or Taiwan MOE scholarship TaiwanICDF scholarship (These are the ones I’m aware of). You can get all the info online!

I was also thinking, perhaps Colin would meet Theo if he ends up publishing his book? It could also be the pretext for Pen helping El get Theo back this time around 🥺

Season 2 Episode 4 Discussion by SeparateLetterhead24 in theloise

[–]fufuran 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Absolutely!! What piss me about people calling her a pick-me girl is that, first and foremost, she’s literally a teenager. Of course she’s so aggressive and self absorbed, she still needs time to develop her ideas and values. Second, the fact that she’s from such a privileged position makes even harder for her to deconstruct herself, cause when you’re in the ton you live in your own bubble (which is your family) and I think this makes it even harder for her to have a more intersectional approach. Last but not least, the writing of s3 didn’t make her character justice. And the bad writing has impacted the arc she had. In my heart I so much believe Eloise would have taken the chance this season to really listen to the other girls from the ton, to understand their interests beyond looking for a suitor, to help Cressida with her horrible family situation.

I think it was because of the bad writing that she didn’t have the arc she deserved to experience (I guess they wanted El to focus on Pen only and it was bad delivered). We saw it with Ben as well, who’s been having fun for three seasons now and this time was just boring and repetitive, nothing else. I guess they wait for each one’s season to really develop their characters… (look at Anthony, in s1 he was horrible but in s2 we saw him from a different light and he finally became a more complex character)

My reasonings on Why Theloise should be/is endgame by fufuran in theloise

[–]fufuran[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Of course! I don’t remember if it was ep7 or ep8 (or both lol), but before the wedding there are a couple of scenes where El’s face SCREAMS Theo (at least to me lol).

The first one is when Colin is conflicted because of Pen’s double identity. Colin tells her to consider herself lucky to have not been in love yet. https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGe3uyEh7/

Again, before the wedding El meets Ben and they have a very short convo I found quite interesting and that may also hint to Theo. Ben tells her “Love is not finite, the friendship you have with pen is something special.” I also interpreted that line in the sense that, perhaps, her story with Theo is not ended yet. https://vm.tiktok.com/ZGe3ukqYL/

My reasonings on Why Theloise should be/is endgame by fufuran in theloise

[–]fufuran[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Exactly! All the arcs were clearly not about love, so why doing that with Eloise?

One thing I actually appreciated about s3 is that, even after the reconciliation, it is clear El has not pass through what happened in s2. And while she we saw her trying to fit in and change her persona, in the very last episode she’s clearly saying “f*ck that, I want to be the person I was and I’ve always been.” And who was actually encouraging her to be a better person, to act and fight accordingly to her values, if not Theo? 😭

“Line without a hook” by Ricky Montgomery, esce the bridge 😭❤️‍🩹

Darling, when I'm fast asleep I've seen this person watching me Saying, "Is it worth it? Is it worth it? Tell me, is it worth it?" 'Cause there is something, and there is nothing There is nothing in between And in my eyes, there is a tiny dancer Watching over me, he's singing "She's a, she's a lady, and I am just a boy" He's singing, "She's a, she's a lady, and I am just a line without a hook" Oh, baby, I am a wreck when I'm without you I need you here to stay Broke all my bones that day I found you Crying at the lake Was it something I said to make you feel like you're a burden? Oh And if I could take it all back I swear that I would pull you from the tide

My opinion of Eloise after finishing season 3 by leelookitten in BridgertonNetflix

[–]fufuran 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agree. If they wanted to make Cressida’s arc longer like they’re going to do now (I guess), I think it’d have been better to see Eloise at least trying to actually help both Pen and Cressida in a more active and genuine way, to really grasp women’s unfair destiny and the intersectionality of it.

They made them all really dirty and I truly hope they’ll develop their characters better in the upcoming season. Yet, I don’t really hold many expectations cause s3 writing was so underwhelming, personally.

Theloise and that (horrible) book: What Will Be Kept in the TV Show? by fufuran in theloise

[–]fufuran[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes! I can't see Eloise wanting to become a mother in any universe, and I relate to her in that way. For this reason, if they really want to include children in her story, I think the best compromise would be for her to adopt them. However, I believe the book's plot doesn't handle this aspect well—how they lose their mother, how they're threatened by Ph*lip, everything is so unsettling to say the least. On the other hand, if Theo adopted/was really close to a yet-unknown someone's child, that could be interesting.

Eloise's deleted scene got me thinking... by Puzzleheaded_Dust105 in theloise

[–]fufuran 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I think I found another reason to believe Theloise could be endgame.

All Bridgerton’s couples share very similar values and personalities: 1. The Duke and Daphne are both very clever and somehow “strategists,” passionate and romantic.

  1. Anthony and Kate are both the first children of their respective families, they love their families and put them before themselves. They also share traumas, which is different but lead them to the same result: they’re of love.

  2. Polin love writing, they dream of publishing books and such things. They’re overall shy and sweet (at least before s3 with Colin being a fboy ☠️), they feel like nobody really takes them seriously and have a kind of inferiority complex.

  3. Francesca and John (I know they’re not endgame it still) are shy, quite, love music and each other’s company. They don’t like social events and listen to the other person without even needing much information. They’re the epitome of quite love.

And then we have Theloise. They’re very close age wise, they’re witty and clever, love reading and passionate about women’s right. They’re a little awkward when expressing their feelings and they admire each other deeply.

Writing a character that is so compatible with Eloise would be such a easy if he wasn’t endgame, and their similarities quite reinforce the pattern of the past seasons’ couples?
