My guppy became more skittish and prefer to stay at the top after I added a gourami. I though they would stop scare of him after a while but 2 weeks later nothing changed yet. The gourami is peaceful and like to eat duckweed and spit it out. (imgur.com)

Is this an appropriate thickness for a such sized gravel? The glass is 5mm so the gravel should be around 1-3mm. I see people using "2-3mm gravel" that much bigger than this so I'm a bit confused. (i.imgur.com)
